Topping out flowering plants during early flower for clones

I didnt take cuttings off my F13 nor the Jamaicans. Has anyone ever tried to take cuttings of the top tips during early flowering? These are smashed in without much light getting to the lowers so no lower branching to take from. They are 4 planted to a container showing sex. The males are far ahead is the other problem. So I might put them in my small pollenator tent and try to bend males over and collect then I guess I can either reveg everything or try to hand pollenate the females as the bloom later. I really want clones of the f13 so trying to take it easy on them but maybe the topped out cuts would work. I am at 3 weeks of 12/12.

Opinions very much welcomed!

much better off with lower branches with any cuttings , so the lower the better .The stage of flowering isn‘t an issue even with Late flowering . I haven’t had much luck with top cutting. If you really want to be safe cut them back revege and start over

Why the tops ? much better off with lower branches with any cuttings . The stage of flowering isn‘t an issue even with Late flowering just got to put them under 18/6 right away
Theres no lowers I can take. Not much light getting to lowers. Full canopy and they are all smashed it together. Multiple in each pot.

I am not sure I will get much seed since the females are so far behind thats why I am considering topping them out.

Other option I guess it to wait one more week or so and put back on 24/7 to begin reveg on ALL and try to collect any pollen that might fall in the process. If the females were further along I would just wait but #1 is seed, #2 is getting some clones.

Leaning towards cutting back all of them and then let them really seed up when they are ready to rock.

I can try to make cuts when I cut back too. I will give it a few more days in hopes of viable pollen.

The Double Jams might be fine just going ahead. Wasnt going to take any cuts but could reveg later if need be.

I will add that I had been doing alot of bending to try for LST but they were not receptive to it. I should have tied them down. More germed than expected so got crammed pretty quick.

I'm not clear on what you are doing. It sounds like a seed run, where somehow these girls are too far behind the boys. In this case, collect and store the pollen. It lasts a good few weeks in the fridge. Store with rice iirc, to keep the RH within reason.

Once a girl is making seed, she will continue under 24h light. I'm not sure it's a great idea, but save some branches from pollination, by bagging them. Pollinate. Wash. De-bag. 24h. You are making seeds and revegging at the same time. Just how nature intended.
Maybe not... but it should work.

The other crazy option, is pulling one out through a vent, to give a branch 24h. It will veg.

Would you like a calendar for Christmas :)

EDIT: A lack of sleep has me thinking a bit more about the one branch, 24h prospect. Need it be outside the tent. Why not enclose a lower branch. It will only need enough light to stay awake, which is not going to present light leak problems. It won't need 600ppfd, it won't need to cover it's own energy needs. It can rob the rest of the plant. It just needs keeping awake.

Taking clones in flower isn't a problem it's advantageous imo, they take long enough to re veg that you get to grow dry and test them without having to maintain vigorous growing clones throughout flowering when most will go in the bin.

You can make some monstrous plants re vegging a bud.
