Holy crap!!! I have been listening to the new Tool album all day, and it is Amazing!!!! We Tool fans have waited so long for a new album, it has been sooo worth the wait. I find there are alot of older-style influences there, definitely going back to the roots...however, the more progressive sounding stuff is amazing...Maynards voice on "Rosetta Stoned" is CrAZY...Just wanted to get some opinions on the album out there...I am a huge tool fan, and this was definitely worth the wait...please all u TOOL fans chime in!!!!PEACE!!

i just downloaded the album and quickly skimmed through it but it sounds pretty much the same as anything theyve done, not that great.

Definitly very good. I am listening to it right now. I really like it. Glad to see they came out with a album. I remember reading in Rolling Stone that they wouldn't come out with a album for 8 years after enima. Glad to see Rolling Stone was wrong. Man its a really good album.

tool is fuckin awesome... never really got "into' them like most fans but Danny carrey (drummer) is a fuckin madman. Even Neil Peart sp? from rush says Danny is one of his all time favorite drummers... now thats saying something.

Hey perfect potleaf....Fuck Off, the album sounds nothing like anything they have ever done. There are def. some Aenima and Lateralus influences in there, but for the most part, totally original and INSANELY good. And YES, Danny is a SICK ass drummer, kicks Neil Perts ass anyday!!!!

actually i think it sounds a lot like lateralus. lateralus had a completely different sound than aenima, which was completely different than their first two cds, but this one is NOT completely different. im not sayin its exactly the same, cuz its not, but its definitely pretty similar. it does not "sound nothin like anything they've ever done before."

im not saying that's a bad thing, i think this cd is fuckin awesome, but it definitely does have a similar style to lateralus.

Yeah it is an awesome album. Tool fans should check out limewire, I downloaded some great live sets there. the complete woodstock set, plus a few others.

Wow, I guess I am the only one that was dissapointed by this album. I am also a huge Tool fan. Scene them a couple times in concert and I sometimes go for weeks with Aenima in my car's cd player, without changing it.

Tool fan qualifications aside, I thought this album was very average for Tool. For any other band it would be exceptional.

1. Not until midway through the fourth song can you barely here Maynards voice. I know he doesn't like to be in the spotlight but when you don't take advantage of one of your bands greatest assets......

2. This album is the first time I've heard any Tool songs that I thought sounded like any other bands. This is their first "creativity challenged" album, IMO.

3. Either Maynard is changing his vocal style on this album, or it was produced to sound that way, but it is by far the weakest his voice has ever sounded.

4. On the 3rd and 4th songs I heard the beginings of an amazing concept album e.g. Dark Side of The Moon, but for whatever reasons they didn't explore it any further.

Tool was one of the few bands I could count on to release an amazing album every single time. And I really dislike when people blindly say their favorite bands newest album is the best thing since sliced bread. Take the time to really analyze it and critique without bias, if possible.

Tool is my favorite band, but this is my least favorite of their albums. I only hope it grows on me.

just saw them in seattle on tuesday, was my 14th show of theirs and is definatley in my top 3.

new album is the greatest thing in music since hendrix.

I have been a tool fan for a long time. Aenima is my favorite album. But I can honestly say that I'm not too impressed by this album. I think its alright, but I dont think its kickass awesome.

The vibe I got from their previous albums is that they actually had something to say that had meaning in thier own lives. This album kinda makes me feel like that they created this one because it was time for Tool to have a new album, and I felt the same with lateralous.

I kinda feel the same way with NIN. His last 2 albums didn't impress me very much, but I love Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral.

But, KoRn has totally gone down the shitter. Thier first was their best, but then they got contracts and started to make real money and they've gotten worse and worse with each album, and now I feel embarassed just to even hear their stuff on the radio... by myself. Stupid fu__ing "Twisted transistor". That is the most hanus song I've ever heard. FU__ YOU KoRn. YOU SUCK!!! Your better off trying to play disco than rock.

korn isnt even in the same galaxy as TOOL. TOOL doesnt put out an album because "its time for another TOOL album" they are perfectionists*

this album is there best work i believe. it may take some time for it to grow on you like most people.

sorry for the come back but im a TOOL freak. rosetta stones live is the best live song i have ever seen.
