Too much heat for a closet?

Hey all,

I'm completing some initial designs for a closet grow. The room in question is 5ftx2.5ftx7ft.

I'm planning on using a 400W light with one of those supercool setups so the vents are attached directly to the light and the heat flushes out with the fan. The fan size I have is a 4inch dia. 160 cfm inline fan. There will be a scrubber on the floor as well which the room air will be sucked through. I will also have smaller fans on the plants (probably 3 DWC buckets in a scrog).

To clarify this, scrubber -> supercooled light -> exhaust fan.

My main concern is ensuring this fan is big enough to dump the heat (which will be dumped into a neighboring closet). Any advice on this? Is 160 CFM big enough to suck from a scrubber through a 400W light?

Thanks,
ssh x nl

You may be pushing things. Depends on how much resistance you build in with ducts, turns, filters etc. My concern is the scrubber on the floor. That will suck out the cool air, leaving the hot air in the box. Hang the filter as high as possible. Because nature abhores a vacuum, sucking out the hottest air will force cool air from the bottom to the top thus cooling the cab.

Thanks! I'll use as little ducting as possible and put the scrubber on the ceiling. I'm thinking of going back to using a cooltube, which gave me excellent results before.

I just hope going from a 6inch dia cooltube duct to a 4 inch dia inline fan won't muck things up too much.

Anyway, thanks again!
