Ok so after 3 months off since my last harv I decided to get back at it. However I didnt plan on gettin 14 out of 16 females. Not to mention in a moment of inspiration I germinated another 10 D-lines and 10 Recons (DNA) about 2 weeks ago. So now I have 14 girls in 5 gallon buckets crammed under (3) 600hps in an 8x3 space. They're 10 days in 12/12 right now and on the verge of exploding with buds so space is gonna be even more of an issue within a week or so. Half of those are a blueberryxskunk strain that I been growing since 2001 and the rest are a diesel cross that I came across a few years ago.
So Im gonna end up doing a second flowering room for the first time in my 8 years of doin this. Should I just expand my 8x3 space that I constructed and fit one more 600 in there to handle the 14 that are flowering. Maybe make it 10x3/10x3.5 maybe ?? And then maybe convert my veg room into the 2nd flowering room? I was thinkin maybe I can hang a 6 foot light rail and throw a 1000 watt hps on it to flower the recons and d-lines. What do you guys think ?
Or should I just get 2 more stationary 600s and put the extras and the new babies together in one chamber . The reason I dont put everyting together in one room is the 15 amp breaker for that room which is at its limit running 3 digi 600s as it is and also heat build up. Not to mention the room itself is about 12x12 but I like having the extra space to move around . The veg room and soon to be 2nd flower room is on a 20 amp breaker so I can play with a lil more power in there. And if I do add one more 600 to the exisitng 3 , should I form a square with them or keep them in line like they are now ?
And on a side note, Im running galaxy digi ballasts in my flowering room and on the 400mh in the veg room. They run to sunsystem cool sun reflectors with 6 inch ducting connecting all 3 in line. I use a can66 fliter with a vortex 449cfm sitting on top of it to blow thru the 3 reflectors which exits out thru more 6 inch ducting and then blows it out of the room all together. Im prolly gonna be adding a fan to pull the air on the other side as well at some point if I have to add another 600 . My last harv off this setup last fall yielded 40 ounces of dank from the 9 plants that finished.
I use a mix of Ocean forest dirt mixed with light warrior on half of my girls and on the other half Im using the Ocean forest mixed with Promix Premier HP and perlite. I prolly should have stuck with my good ole mix of Ocean forest, pro mix, worm castings, perlite and vermiculite but its a pain in the ass to mix enough to fill 15 five gallon buckets. I also use hydroton to line the bottom of my buckets to avoid any kind of puddling on the bottom. It works like a charm. I use this 8x4 foam insulation board that I cover in 2mm mylar to construct the walls. Then I use velcro to secure everything together , which also makes takin it apart easy. I'll take some pics of the new stuff soon. Any feedback on my setup would be appreciated. Im also open to the idea of doin a stadium setup so if you have any experience with that then plz post up.
