Tom Hill Haze question

What does "does not breed true" mean?
Does this mean only ~5% will exhibit "Haze" qualities?

"It does not breed true for its intoxicating properties, however the best examples (approx 5%) are electrifyingly cerebral."

It mean's the traits are all over the place, an you'll have to look through 100 plants to find 5 good ones.

A couple of quotes from Tom about his haze:

"The high is not consistent, this has always been my experience with this Haze. Regarding effect, most I'd rank as an up, cerebral, sociable, medium/high potency to varying degrees. Some though are incredibly friggen potent - a sometimes concerning intense high that lasts for 4+ hours. Of course these later types are the ones we enjoy most, or I do anyway. My experience has been that approximately 5% are absolutely outstanding, representing well this reputation/legend of the Haze high. There is some full-on hay in there too, I don't know, I guess I'd say that 10-20% piss me off as a waste of time? The vast majority of the line though falls somewhere between these two extremes. -Tom"

"I'll go ahead and upgrade my assessment to agree with CBF's and say that there's a "good" plant in every 10 pack on average. But I have grown over a thousand of these Haze plants and once you find an "excellent" example then the bar is all shot to hell and then some forevermore - this is the place from where I am looking at it. Those are about one in twenty, this has been my experience with it."

Hazy Lady´s incredibly well documented posts about Tom´s Haze are well worth reading for anybody interested in this line, it is a way better plant to grow than the stringy ultra long flowering Haze that got used for much of the breeding by Sensi onwards..

I was hoping for some pointers growing this haze. Any guidance is appreciated.
Mild soil? Should I just go 12/12 from seed and keep the container small?
Any sort of amendments once flowering begins?

I mainly try to flower these outdoors. Indoors 11/13 after Only a couple weeks in relatively small pot. Once flowering is well established you can up pot to final container. Light nutrients especially N can get a little heavier well into flower. Maybe 10/14 last month or so.

yes, you can go 12/12 from start. but for the best performance you should flower them from cut, it will be also quicker and output will be better overall.. if from cut, then veg them few days after rooting, and then put them under 11/13.. and watch it :D she likes guano like any other sativa.. dont feed too heavy, just watch the plant what she needs. talk to her.. :D keep soil balanced the whole flowering cycle, no ph fluctuation.. and also avoid extensive heat...
