Tolerance to ingested ganj

i would assume so. how you ingest it is irrelevant except for determining how much of it enters the bloodstream and how long it takes. when it's there, i would think tolerance would be built just like anything else.

Interesting, Im having a chest-cold currently, so instead of smoking, ive been eating bit of hash throughout the day, I tell you it DOSENT get me off like ganja food does, which is what I was hoping for.... Im confused why it didnt work like I was hoping for, is it the solubility of the butter/oil carrier it would be in if made into ganjfood??

Or does it too rapidly pass through the stomach and not allow for digestion? I dunno?!

in my personal experience, i've had to eat ALOT to get a good buzz going. i've had friends give me everything from cookies to candies to brownies that they said "man this will really waste you" and it did nothing for me.

i've also used 1 ounce of nice frosty dank nugs (not trim) to make a batch of brownies by simmering the crushed and shredded bud in butter and then using the butter in a batch. I ate a fourth of the batch in one sitting. sat down on the couch to watch a movie. woke up 8 hours later with a heinous hangover and a very stiff neck.

there is a lot of factors that go into it, but generally it seems to me that ingesting takes much longer to kick in, and once it kicks in it lasts significantly longer and takes alot more to acheive a "high"

as for just eating hash, it could be that just a chunk of hash takes longer to digest or is more slowly digested than if it were cooked into something and spread around alot more. the fact still remains you have to eat way more than you would have to smoke to get the same high.

peace

The reason why it didn't do chit is because it hadn't been activated. Cannabinoids need to be heated up to a certain temp in order to be used by the human body's cannabinoid receptors. A chemical reaction takes place, due to the heat, and then they are ready to be consumed. When you cook cannabinoids in a fat (butter) they heat, activate, remain in the butter, and are then digested by your liver (another reason why some people freak out from eating it is because delta-9 thc is converted in the liver to 11-hydroxy thc, which is much more effective at inducing hallucinations and paranoia). When you smoke or vape cannabinoids, they are heated, activated, inhaled, absorbed by the lungs, and go straight into your blood (skipping the liver).

Hope that little science lesson explains what the problem was.

There is a way to activate your herb while not burning, vaping, or cooking with it. I'll put it on here somewhere if you guys would like to see it.

Edit: Eating always takes much longer to "go to work", because the cannabinoids have to pass through the liver. It's like oral medications versus IV medications. Oral = liver = slow. IV = similar to inhaled = no liver = fast.

And yes. You would become tolerant to cannabinoids in the same way, by both smoking and eating. However, I think that the building of a tolerance would be slower and, in the end, less than smoking because the tar and soot from smoke would eventually coat your lungs and act as a barrier to absorption.

I think the building of a tolerance would be very similar with eating and vaping (no tar/soot with vapor).

Your tolerance would probably build at a similar rate as smoking. But I think eating straight hash would be a complete waste. Instead, you should simmer it in milk for ~10 minutes it would disolve into the fat and get you fucked up. Maybe pour it on ice and add some chocolate syrup.....In India they make spiced weed milk called bhang, thats the shiiit.

Bruce, are you eating the weed-food on an empty stomach, if not that could be the problem. Or if you munch out it might mellow the high. Or are you really fat :chin: ? jk man.

mostly it's because at 6'4 and 240 lbs, i take alot more than most to get fucked up, so when little people make their little cookies and little brownies, it doesnt do much for me lol. no offense taken, i'm a big man and it suits me just fine lol. your milk idea made me start thinking though, what a great additive to a good home made cup of chai!

I ate a chunk of bubble hash before that was about 1.5 - 2 grams before and I drank about a litre of milk with it, took that to wash it down. I got high but it was more of a body stone and my heart raced and until I relaxed I was getting a bit paranoid that I may have eaten too much, of course I was fine and I had some great dreams to boot.
