to y or not to y?

hi, everybody wondering what your opinions are . I've got 2 1000watters in cool tubes. my question is would it be benefital to put the inline fan at the bottom, attached to a Y or a T and up thru the lights vertical, or should i just run them inline horizontal, trying to tree grow with buckets, but with just 2 lights don't know how well its going to work, i imagine alot of bucket rotating. thanks in advance.

I'd hang both lights next to each other with straight tube in between, then hang the fan next to the lights. Pull the air through both lights and exhaust out of the room. No Y's necessary. This will maximize airflow the most efficiently.

Those cool-tubes are nice.

I respectfully dis-agree. The second light will pull the heat off the first, therefore getting much warmer air to cool it. But going with a "T or Y" you must have a very powerful fan to truly cool them as 1k's produce a load of heat. Somewhere around 1000 cfms for two! See www.icmag.com/ic/showthread?t=7354 Also considering size when growing that HID light only penetrates to 3' well after that sparse and wispy buds on long vegged sticks with decent ones at the top. A vertical grow maximises light use as no light is loss from reflection. Ideally you'd have a vertical grow with two fans one on each light pulling heat off, jmtc.
