?To Weave or Not to Weave?

Scrog....

How do you all run your screen... do you, pull the plant back under the screen from the same hole it breached? Do you weave it like a basket so the plant really never stretches above the screen...???

Pros?

Cons? for either technique?? Let's hear..... :lurk:

Okay.... for my next scrog run... I am gonna run clones of the same mother.... in individual units.. both under 1 sq ft screen... one I will weave like a basket... the other will be allowed to grow through the screen then pulled back under..... I will try to keep the cuts as uniform as possible until the actual training starts.....

Might wanna try putting this question in one of the grow forums, you'll get more response. A lot of folks don't come to GD&E.

I'd like to help, but I've never scrogged.

Check out Mtn. John's cab, he's got a very nice scrog, and recently posted some pics of the underside of it. Should be able to give ya plenty of info.

I tend to stick in the 'active topics' so I really didn't know where to stick this, beings there isn't really a sog/scrog/lst forum???

Why the negativity? I think he'll get a much better response in one of those forums.

Berry - Yeah, repost it.

I'm not sure really man, forum burnout maybe?I only used to know I used to enjoy the hell out of this, especially when I knew I was making a difference for someone electrically or in their grows,I only know here lately whenever there are responses to threads a lot of it is ugly and useless.Thats when there are people around, which isnt very often.Damn all you people have jobs or somthing lol?I retired around 2002

it's a good question-for me the answer is both.

I normally let the shoots come above the screen, weave them under then , if possible, keep them under until the buds beginn to form -then i put them in the final ripening position. The reason for letting them come through the first time is that they get bent at an angle greater than 45degrees-ensuring that the growth suppressing hormone produced by the shoots doesn't get down to the growth below-and thus the plants bush out more. That's the theory anyway-

i see the main difference between weaving or keeping them below the screen is that it is not possible to re-position branches that have been weaved-
