To those using YaraLiva Calnit and Jacks 5-12-26

I made the switch to this new Calnit and I guess my concerns have to do with whether the strength is the same given the same molecular weight.

I mix both parts in a 1 gal concentrate using exactly 1 gal and exactly 300 grams of each part. I then inject each one into a 5G bucket for veg or a 25G res for flower. This has worked very well for a few years now and I really love how consistent, accurate and quick it is to feed this way.

I confirm the first bucket I make to ensure that the TDS is on the mark. If I do that for the Yara it would already likely read higher due to there being slightly more N and Ca.

Any thoughts??

I don't have any experience with the nutrients you are using. That's a good question. Are you switching because you want to lower the nitrogen in flowering?

I use both products but i dry measure jacks and add to 5 gal with tap water, then mix yara in a separate bottle (wait til dissolved), measure 5 gal with tds at 400ish, add yara (normally tds of 200ish) bringing my ppm to 600 (1.2 ec).
I am currently growing ace golden tiger and i did not want excess N so i reduced some yara and replaced with GH Calimagic. At jacks 3gr and yara 2gr, the N is 121. With yara 1gr and 20ml of GH Calimagic, N is 91. I like to alternate this. I add epson salt once a month to make the 3gr,2gr,1gr. I never use 3.6-2.4-1.2gr with my tap water.

Good luck, it's pretty easy with jacks.

Im switching because I've never been able to get the pH in my root zone to match my input. No matter what I put in, it comes out 1-1.5 points higher. Based on my research, I've concluded that the nitrate N in most Calnit formulations, when consumed by the plant, causes the pH to rise in the media. I guess this isn't a problem if you're in true hydro since there's no media. Soil obviously is ok with a higher pH, as well.

Now I use the Yara which has a bit more Ca and a small amount of Ammoniacal N which is supposed to keep the pH in check. I noticed an immediate improvement in my plants. The leaf twist that I've almost always had is gone and the general plant appearance is much better. I'll be doing runoff tests this weekend to confirm.

Thanks. I'm already seeing positive results. I'll likely experiment with lowering N in flower similarly to how you're doing it at some point when I've gotten comfortable with the Yara.

Thoughts?
Yeah, so your veg formula is 5x the strength of your flower formula?
Is that a question or a statement? Regardless, my veg formula isn't stronger than what I use in flower. I just mix up 5G for veg because it's simpler that way. I mix to a similar EC for flower but it goes into 25G reservoirs that pump via timers into my flower rooms.
