To grow or not to grow.

Hey, I'm new to this and I don't know what to do anymore. To provide a bit of background, I'm in college and I live with some flatmates. I wanted to setup a PC growbox, in the matter of fact, I've already ordered one, unfortunately without much thought - it was cheap (amateur style, homemade).

The reason why right now I don't know whether I want to do it is the (from what I've read) hard to control odor. I live on groundfloor of a block of flats and my only window goes out to a busy yard. Additionally, I would like to keep my flatmates unaware of my operation. I've read about carbon filters, but people say a simple computer fan won't be able to push air through it. On the other hand, people say that odor consuming gels and similar simply don't work. All this leaves me puzzled.

Can I grow in my conditions and remain stealth? I mean realisticly. Any thoughts on my situation?

Thanks a lot.

welcome razz!

i remember photorons from back in the day... lol... couple of guys tried those for sure! and no, realistically, you can't do it where no one in the place will know.

~it does smell
~you will need to bring in supplies, shit the cabinet itself even
~they will be curious, if not going there on their own, when u'r not around... or in the can... or whatever
~any fans u try to use will make noise
~and u'r growing weed... ;-)

can't really say, in good conscience, to recommend for anyone to grow their own... unless they are in a medi state... and more importantly, fully understand & weigh the criminal consequences, which is really rather steep, maybe even real jail for a couple of plants, depending on a lot... not knowing where u'r at & all.

why risk everything early on in life? wait til u'r an old fuck like me & where the system has beaten you down so much that u'r a real pissy shit & just don't care anymore. ;-) and go medi jic! peace.

I agree with MIway

A pc case grow isn't going to produce enough herb for it to be worth the risk involved.

There is a way to keep the smell nonexistant without using a carbons filter. Get on ebay and look up gt50 ozone generator. It produces small enough amounts of ozone that it won't be harmful to you but it will still be effective for that size of grow. It also has a knob on it where you can adjust the amount of ozone it puts out.

If I were in your shoes, i wouldn't do it. Even if you can pull it off, its not enough herb to justify the risk of getting busted. Since you already have ordered the case, you can use it to germinate seeds in, then transplant them outside for a guerrilla grow.

There is an outdoor section that will help you with a good guerrilla grow. An important bit of info is to figure out what day your going to put them outside and look up what the light schedule is for that day. That will be the light schedule you need to germinate and veg with. May or june is a good time to put them out, lots of light then. If you don't do it this way, the plants will start to flower right when you put them out and they will get all messed up.

Welcome!
Hate to say it, but it's going to be really difficult with that many restrictions AND no prior growing experience. There are low-odor strains (but there aren't any NO-odor strains, unfortunately). Smell, noise and roommates that you want to keep this hidden from are all problems you'd have to overcome all while learning how to keep a plant alive all the way through flowering tucked away in a closet or whereever. It can be done and people have done it, but it'll take a lot of planning. Don't suppose there's anywhere you could try an outdoor grow this year, is there?

You have been very helpful, thank you. :)

In fact my friends are outdoor growers, they offered me to join them so I think I'll just do it. Where I come from (and will stay for summer) there is a lot of space for this kind of grows.

Again, thank you very much. :)
