recently i have witnessed some bullshit with pet owners abandoning there pets because all of a sudden there pets are not convenient to them anymore......


last week my friend was leaving his dialysis appointment, two 8-10 week old puppies abandoned in the parking lot. absolutely gorgeous puppies, just makes me sick that someone wouldn't give a rat's ass about them.....

a lady friend of mine has to move from her apartment to a brand new house. new carpets, new everything. she decides to take her two cats of 16 years to the fucking pound because she's afraid they may mess up there house. bitch, for the last 16 years they were fine, and now that there not convenient anymore......fuck it, take them to the pound to be killed......oh ya, wont even tell you about the fish........

today im driving to where i like to run. its a long curvy road to get there. as im bending a curve, two shin high, cute little dogs are standing in the middle of the road, waiting for the dick who just left them there. at least the dick was nice enough to leave some Chinese leftovers on the side of the road for them. i stop as well as the guy behind me, so i can get them out of the street. as we pull over someone goes flying past us and wham! both dogs are hit, one dies instantly, the other has both hind legs broken, trying to drag himself away, heart wrenching! the dude who pulled over with me was cool enough to take it to the vet. at least someone cares about these dogs.....

i just think its bullshit to abandon animals because its not convenient, fun for you or there just not cute anymore. when you got your animal, it was for life! that animal DID NOT have a choice to go home with you! and now you abandon it? FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you.I treat my cats better than I treat myself.They get better medical care than I do,and they definitly eat better than me.Some people just do not get "unconditional love".Maybe they should.

I feel ya bro. my 2 cats are the world to me . Being a animal shelter worker the past 12 years, I've seen some piss poor excuses:
Chick brought in her 9 year old German Shepherd that she had since it was 8 weeks old. Her husband told her after they got married, It's me or the dog. I would of told him not to let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.

danm man, thats horrable. did the guy in the car even stop? its fucked up how people think that animals are expendable or just ornimants or somthing just to have around the house,i live next to a busy street and animals get hit alot here people figure that they dont have to hit the brakes for it cause it'll cause a crash,its a fuckin cat not a moose.

There was an honest, humble lady with her husband behind me in the Food Stamps line yesterday.
She told me that she is close to losing her home and may have to move to an apt. where they can't have pets.
So she told her daughter that she may have to give up her dog-the dog that she grew up with and move away! And of course the daughter flipped out!

The woman did NOT want to do that in a million years. She was at the end of her road-like most of us long term unemployed are, and kept repeating "I don't know. I don't know."
But I kept saying: "Do NOT give up that animal. Do NOT ever give up that animal!"
"DO NOT!!"

I'm actually really, really worried about pets like this being abandoned now that this economy is tanking. It really makes me sick to death.

Its unfortunate and disheartening to hear news like this. It is hard to understand how some people can neglect their chosen responsibilities and leave helpless,domesticated pets to fend for themselves. Such a sad reality.
In my lifetime I have taken in/found homes for well over a dozen strays. Some have been great pets, some not so great (often the result of previous bad owners). But all of them lived comfortably and peacefully in my home. They deserved at least that imo. I am glad to hear others feel the same way. Or at least try to give them a fighting chance of finding a home. K+

I rescued my american bulldog x pitt from a crack house ,
Covered in tics, tied up out in the sun.
It was 3 mnths before he stopped anxious pacing caused by crack fumes.
Now the most loyal friend i could ever wish for!
I dont keep him in he can run free in the jungle and he comes to my grow plot with me .I also feed 2 thai ridgebacks that sleep under my truck both abandoned at 3 mnths old ,ha try stealing my truck!
Makes me so angry and i want to bite people in the face .
Same or more so with animals used in research ,suffering terribly from pain n fear.A

The local animal shelter where I used to live had a program of spaying or neutering feral cats and then letting them go back where they were caught. My wife called them and asked them if turning animals loose to fend for themselves or abandonment was against the law. The rep at the shelter was yes, yes it is against the law and when we catch people abandoning animals we prosecute them. Then my wife asked her how they can spay and neuter cats just to abandon them back tto the wild, wasn't that a state violation. Cause all they were doing was supplying the coyote's with dinner. So that raised an issue which I doubt has changed, fixing cats only to toss them back out, doesn't make sense to me.

While abandoning animals is obviously wrong, attributing human rights and attributes to animals is fucking "off the wall" insane.

On the ranch, I've always looked at my outdoor cats as disposable mouse traps. They come and go and never eat canned food. Never allowed in the house. Same with my dogs.

We're in the middle of a pet boom here in Japan and abandoned animals are really starting to increase in numbers when idiots realize that they should have bought a pet rock.

Some people think that being owned by a pet is a "novelty"And when it wears off,so goes the animal.These are people who should have never been allowed to be owned in the first place.They miss out on more than they can imagine,the unconditional love,the friendship and companionship that you will never get from another human is priceless to me.Pets ask for nothing and give you everything in return.They do not care that you lost your job,or had a bad day or any of that bullshit.All they care about is you.And mine show me every day.

Just the other day I was driving home and I saw a cat's shadow thrown by my lights and braked (only doing 20 nobody behind) but the car coming the other way was going way too fast and ran right over the thing.

What shocked me was that the guy didn't even stop. No way he didn't realize he had hit something with the sound it made.

I just don't get it.
