To all the Purple Kush growers and smokers......

Hello IC. I have been on here a while, and I can't seem to find a PK report that really describes the taste and smell of this great herb. The reason I am doing this is because by some crazy fluke, i think, I just managed to get my hands on some PK, and actually have been smokin it for a few weeks now. Before I continue, let me say that I have no real strain name or lineage of this herb. It has been goin around here for a month or so, and I thought it was the PK when I first smoked it and saw it, but no one ever really knows what you're gettin around here. So after reading many grow threads and smoke reports on the PK, I would like to submit mine on what I can only maybe guess is Purple Kush. All of you that have grown/smoked the "real" PK, please let me know if I am anywhere near being right on this one!!! Like I said, I can only guess that this strain is or def has some PK in it!!!!!

So here is the report:
On first sight, the nugs are very crystally, not big trichs, but tons of them. This stuff was prolly tumbled a little also!!! The smell is not overwhelming at first, but when u break apart the nugs, they omit a very spicy, perfumey "kushy" smell. Definitely some piney notes and some hash too.

On the first inhale, I get what I can only describe as kushy hashy spice and a little tiny hint of sweetness. As the joint progresses, the taste gets a little more "kushy", (this is why I think its the real deal!!), and more sweet smoke. near the end of the joint, the kushy goodness is still there a little, but mostly it becomes woody and very piney, almost like smokin a pine needle. Smoth till the end, nicely flushed, and no chemmy taste. I love this herb, and whether its the "real" PK or not, it doesn't matter to me. I just wanted everyone's $.02, and was wondering if this could be PK. So if any of you guys wanna chime in on the real PK, let me know if Im smokin what u guys are...This place is great...Peace all....

P.S. - this stuff has some very dark purple calyxes along with some green ones. Bud structure and size, etc....are very PK looking. Nice dense nugs, some very big, but mostly nice good sized buds....

Hey all, I noticed there was a Purple Kush thread here but wasn't too much in the way of a smoke report. I've also been talking to a couple other people who were a bit inquisitive as to the specifics of PK, what it smells and tastes like, potency, so on. I've yet to grow any PK besides bagseed, but I've been smokin it for years and some people might find it a bit interesting...

GROW Method:

1. Visual Appeal: 9.25- 9.5 Dark purple nuggets smattered with clumps of orange pistils, and absolutely covered with trichomes. Small glimpses of green from sparse untrimmed leaves.


2. Visible Trichomes: 9.5 Completely coated with trichs. Trichomes go flying when you break open the buds and kief falls out in little heaps. Not scattered trichs, kief

I prefer my PK with about 50/50 amber/cloudy for that head and body combo that i love, but I'm enjoying the headiness right now.

this PK is fucking dense. Virtually no give to the nug when squished between the fingers, even when pressure is applied. It simply breaks up instead of compressing.

comment: Oh the smell of Purple Kush is indescribable for me... it is so hard to fit into the above categories. it starts out sorta floral, and finishes with almost a rotten skunky smell, mixed in with a smell slightly akin to the Purple Urkle "purple smell". I have tried to describe the smell of PK so many times unsuccessfully. Think of Catpiss/Skunk with some purple smell thrown in, if you know what I mean.

Purple Kush is one of my all time favorites so I might be a bit biased... but this shit smells so danky delicious.

9. Just picked: / Weeks cured: Didn't grow it but i'm familiar with the Pk as she cures... This particular batch is probably between a 2 and 3 week cure is is just really starting to develop the definitive rotten skunky kush smell. The Pk is almost floral when it's fresh, and the rotten smell creeps to about a month, at which point it starts getting just Kushier. After a month it retains the rotten skunkiness, but not as strong and it just starts to get Kushy. Some of you Kush smokers will know that smell, like the essence of Kush. This is also the best time for taste, mmm mmm finely cured PK tastes like heaven, but I digress.

Beautifully colored, rock hard little purple nuggets with exquisite taste and smell. Just blanketed in trichomes, and covered by dense clusters of Orange pistils.

3. Taste: 9.5. Truly indescribable Kushy taste that lingers on the palette several minutes after smoking. Kush and Purple thats about all I can say Its fun, you can lick your mouth 5-10 minutes after smoking and relive that Kushy goodness

This particular batch was probably allowed to air dry a bit longer than usual I think. Not excessively dry but getting to that point where it crumbles a bit when you break it up.


5. smoke ability: 8

Coment: Smooth smoke.


6. Smoke expansion: 7. More expansive than most of what I've been getting, but not a lung buster. Just right

Rate how the smoke expands in the lungs from 1-10 stable-explodes.


7. Intensity: 9.5

Rate how high the smoke got you. 1-10 nothing to maximum effects.

Coment: Ah to top off how pretty and stinky she is, the PK packs a whallop! Extremely comfortable body and head combo that just takes you out of reality. Very strong. A very pleasant combination of body stone and just blitzed in the head... Ideal for after work to relax and chill. Not so good if you got shit to do, it's a social high somewhat, but not a "get up and go" high. More like a "relax and zone out" type deal that might deter you from getting things done.

coments: Probably one of my favorite mixes of head and body in a strain... just right.


9. "social liability factor" use no 1-10:

coments: Not too sure what it means in this context. It is a relaxing smoke ideal for social settings IMO, although it may be too strong for some smokers. i have seen inexperienced smokers trip out, mumble or talk jibberish after too much PK. seriously. Not the best day smoke if you got a lot of shit to do, you'll feel more like relaxing and vegging than doing anything productive.

10.which direction did the high take you? ie is it (a) up time party sativa? or is it; (b) sleep time indica? or (c) it can go both ways?

C) leaning more towards "sleep time indica", it definately isn't a really "up time party sativa" but it wont make you tired right away. I believe it is best after work to help the aches and pains, and helps me really relax. It is definately strong enough to impede your daily activities like work so I try not to smoke it before work or going out on the town.

<9.5> Medicinal Strength:

Medical Effects: PK relaxes my aches and pains away like no other. Probably one of the best I'd recommend for any physical ailments, although I don't suffer any in particular. I have a feeling it would be very effective for those who suffer from muscle spasms or chronic pain.

It is also a big appetite-stimulant, munchie buds for sure.

I would imagine it's extremely effective for insomnia. I suffer from irregular sleep sometimes but Purple Kush will guarantee a good nights rest. it'll shut your head up quick and let you drop off to sleep ever so peacefully.It doesn't knock you out totally either, it is almost perfectly ideal.

The only negative I can think of is anxiety. PK is very strong, and produces some anxiety in me when smoked in larger amounts. I would imagine people with real anxiety problems could be affected negatively. The shit is strong.

All in all, Purple Kush is one of my favorites. Not only is it so very potent, it has the killer taste, smell, and aesthetics to round out the package. Cuts through heavy tolerance like a knife through butter, which eases the lungs of some of us heavy smokers. And doesn't develop a tolerance itself much at all. A truly unique Kush variety that i will enjoy for many more years to come.

PHYSICAL EXAMINATION COMMENTS: this weed is extremely dense, frosted, and a very unique shade of green/purple/and blues. the slighty pinkish/orange hairs compliment well. some dark purple spots deeper in the nug.

the smell of this weed is wonderful. every person that has smelled it said whoa or something of the sort. after burned this weed REEEEEKS, it will creep through the tiniest cracks and stink your whole place up. at harvest the weed smells more of a sweet rotten smell, after a few weeks cure it looses the sweet and gets pure rotten, then at about a month to two months it reeks and taste of pure kush. ( not to be confused with the strain pure kush ) its what i like to call the essence of kush.

ok this weed taste fuckin bomb. after the hit you just lick your lips for more. at first a sweet kushy taste fills your palette after a few minutes it gets more rotten but nothing any stoner wouldnt mind. the stone is second to none, sets you back puts you in the most perfect mood, that stoned grin on the face, the extremely low eyes. its pretty expansive if your not used to the really dank weed, people i smoke out get devastated, one friend just couldnt stop saying in quote "this weed is really really really good"

Judging from your descrips... I dunno sounds like you could have some thing else.. Purple Kush isn't very piney... And you said "woody and very piney, almost like smokin a pine needle"...

Doesn't sound like Purple Kush at all. PK joints taste like dank kushiness to the end... Earthy maybe... "very piney, almost like smokin on a pine needle"... Not even close.

Hey guys, I have read all the smoke reports above, but that weird format freaked me out for some reason...hard to read!!!Anyhow, all my connection tells me is that it comes from Humbolt, HOWEVER, most of the locals tell me it is grown here. Who the f**k knows. One of the only reasons I miss NYC is always knowin what I was smokin...but this is some good shit anyways...

Cavalley - after smokin a bowl of this stuff, i gto know pine at all, just kushiness all the way and the other goodness I reported on. Also, I forgot, the joint I smoked earlier today was a "real" joint, or some may call it a spliff or a euro...anyways, it had some tobacco in it. I like my spliffs and blunts with some American Spirit mixed in....that could have given it the piney woody stuff....

you can give a ruff estimate but ive never known anyone to nail the kush taste dead on. kush taste like kush nothing ive ever come across or anyone ive known has come across taste or smells like kush. it is the impossible riddle haha

now that I think about it, and am super-stoned on this "PK", maybe the Kush smell/taste is like Durian fruit with some Skunk and incense thrown in..!!??WOW, I am really stoneeedd!!!!

Kush in my opinion tastes like a real rotton skunk with a slight coffee smelling pine needles taste.
Thats the best I can do sorry guys.
Usually these Cali Kush hybrids have this aftertaste and thats why it's known as a Kush.
But for example the candy Kush I have is a snow cap x Kush.
So on the inhale you taste the snow cap alpine skunk and then on the xhale it leaves that rotton skunky coffee pine needle Kush taste in your mouth.
Pure Kush strains, (not the strain Pure Kush), but landrace Kush just tastes like coffeeish rotton tasting pine needle skunk. Some can have a slight fruityness to it.
Usually if it was crossed to Skunk #1 or something in the dutch days of breeding.
Before Kush made it's huge impact on Cali breeders and growers.

I dunno JDog the only kush I've ever smoked to have any "Coffee" taste at all is Bubba Kush... I definately wouldn't use the word coffee when describing the other members of the Kush variety...

Catpiss/Skunk is the best way I could describe that Kush stank, but like Jay was sayin, describing Kush taste and smell to someone who doesn't know what it is, is kinda hard... It is just such a unique scent...

Cavalley - after smokin a bowl of this stuff, i gto know pine at all, just kushiness all the way and the other goodness I reported on. Also, I forgot, the joint I smoked earlier today was a "real" joint, or some may call it a spliff or a euro...anyways, it had some tobacco in it. I like my spliffs and blunts with some American Spirit mixed in....that could have given it the piney woody stuff....

But my mom died of lung cancer smokin tobacco... Smoked until the last day. Try to phase that shit out of your joints man, please. If you got shit as good as Kush around you won't have any trouble droppin the tabbacky..

If you're still trying to identify it... Send some my way I'll be glad to ID it lol... But seriously, trying to identify a specific strain with only some brief descriptions online is pretty difficult. I suggest going through mine and Jay's smoke reports. Just look for the parts specific to taste and smell if you're havin trouble reading em. If your bud sounds like what we're describin, chances are you got your hands on the Purple Kush.

catpiss/skunk/ and hints or rotten meat imo. ive had people who didnt smoke weed at all tell me that something smells like it died in my room. depends on the cure what pk tastes like it changes a lot. sometimes its just sooooo rotten it makes me gag others its just soo good i cant stop smellin the jar. pine hell na i dont think kush has a pine taste to it at all, coffee only the bubba and the new school kushes have that taste imo.
