This is so they can up the prison sentencing....now they can add tax evasion to all the other charges.....

i didnt think it would be an added charge, just that they get billed for tax evasion, so they either pay or some of their assets are sold off.

From the government that thinks a million pound bust is 10 plants and some scales i would expect to see the American National debt increase quite a bit if this comes in. Scary really.

They even offer a voluntary drop in service to get your stash stamped! Talk about walking from the frying pan to the fryer.

This actually is funnier that hell. The state spends $1.2 million to set up the program and then pays $800,000 per year to run it. They are now in a battle with the cops to see which of them can steal people's shit first.

Idaho actually has a Marijuana tax stamp that cost about $6 gram. Of course it is illegal to have marijuana, but that doesn't deter politicians from taxing it.

I believe that the law states that anyone who receives money from illegal activity can be prosecuted under moneylaundering laws. Does that apply to states that get tax money from drugs? They are certainly profiting from illegal activities.

this is so stupid, even when i got caught selling copied dvds on ebay they didnt try and tax me and i made over 5,000. all the buyers new they were fake trailer park boys dvds. the good thing was all ebay cared about was getting paid, so they didnt even tell anyone or kick me off. they gave me about 15 warnings in 1 years and still didnt throw me off...must have liked the money they were getting from me to sell on their site...

What's funny is that this is quite old. This has been in effect for two years now.

Nothing new, and it is being challenged.

Now that is just hilarious :biglaugh:
Unfortunately, it's also stupid as hell. We can't legalize it, but we can tax it? What a load of BS.

From what I've heard it's basically impossible to get them, have to call some office in the state capitol (Have to drive there to get the stamps if you can get them, so I've heard). I found an article somewhere around the time this came out, where somebody tried to obtain some of the stamps (Also for collection purposes) but just got the runaround into a brick wall.

It was ruled unconstitutional a while back, this was the states first appeal that was rejected. I made a post about it here.
