Titan light control behind tent?

I have a house and play around with ideas on what it's capable of. There is a wall in the basement that is 16 feet of section. Perfect for x2: 4 x 8 gorilla tents for 4k of light. The question I have is for those that have used Titan light controllers. Can I mount the light controller behind the tents? It would be the best place and gorilla tents can be opened through the back as well, for changing the timer.

My first concern is the heat and how close the tent fabric can be. It's really the best place in this room. I am at wiring stage of a rebuild and so far there are just a ton of outlets and 2 20amp circuits. The only other places to mount the controller have issues I don't care for.

I am almost to drywall stage and if things change $, if things change, I'd like to drill holes in the studs and block wall (to get to the utility room) and hook up a controller to a 30 amp breaker.

This house is like a bunker, even has cement floors upstairs. Sucks to rewire most of it, nearly impossible from what I've seen.

Thanks for stopping by :tiphat:

To answer your ?, your light controller can be as far away as your ballast power cords will plug in to.

My question is why are you trying to put tents in a space that you could just buildout and make a whole room of? Tents are pretty cool but if you are trying to upsize get outta them and build a room, keep your tents for veg upstairs or something...

There is only 1 20amp service upstairs, for the entire upstairs. The floors are cement with heat in them. Drilling thru the floor is extremely risky with the heat pipes.

It's a small house, 4k isn't that large of a grow. I like the tents for easy take down. The only thing built in would be the controller. Just thinking out loud for future sake and asking if the controller can be safely behind the tent. Safety is the sole concern here. It's also the neatest way of placing the controller. As the two lights to the left will plug in on the left side of the controller and the 2 lights to the right with plug on the right side of the controller. Not having any cords bend or go under the ceiling is ideal. Running more 10 gauge or whatever is 30amp isn't the issue at this junction.

A dual trigger controller would let you run each tent on opposite 12/12 schedules, that could be useful if heat becomes an issue.

Running multiple tents or rooms for one person is difficult logistically speaking at best.

The question remains, is heat an issue with these controllers. I have never seen in person an operating Titan Controller or a Gorilla grow tent.

Like I said earlier, money is an issue at the moment.

I could SOG a lot of plants for pheno hunting or just run 4 very large scrog plants. Depends on upcoming legislation and how ballsy/secure I feel.

EDIT: Running multiple tents on different schedules isn't my favorite. Space is limited to make tea and I prefer to run everything in a main flowering tent(s) as same/same as possible.

are you asking if the controller gets hot?
No they don't, they are cool to the touch. I'd be worried if the box was hot, it's just some plastic molded around some outlets and relays... nothing should be getting hot

Running multiple rooms is a lot easier if you take notes and keep a schedule. very doable for one person.

If your floors are heated don't worry about it.. why would you drill down into them?

Sorry I should of been more specific in the reply. The upstairs floors are heated and not the basement floors. Can't easily put grounded circuits upstairs or any additional circuits upstairs.

I figured the controller would be cool. I just wanted to cover this option of what I would seriously prefer. The main concern was the light controller and being close or touching tent fabric.

I can't build rooms right now. It's a small long rectangle basement, a walk out ground level floor. Heated ceilings and I put insulation in. There will also be a gas fireplace and there are windows.

I like the idea of tents for several reasons. One being is that this is just a room for the time being. Simply planning options and checking out facts and ideas.

Thanks for the input
