Tiny plant

For my second grow going, i have only got 1 female out of 6 seeds. Last time it was a skunk #1 and wasn't massive but I got well over an ounce off her.

This time I think she is a Skunk #1 again, but she's tiny! Been flowering her for just over a month, and I've LST'd her but she is barely 2 feet tall. It might be because she is trained, so none of the cola's become massive (she has about 8 cola's at the moment), but none of them are really big, not even an 8th on each one at the moment. She has a 250w hps all to herself, and I'm really hoping she starts piling on the weight soon! I'm worried that she just isn't big enough to really yeild nicely

Has anyone else ever had really small plants, what did you get off her in the end?

sounds like a case of poor genetics. but just cause her shes smalle doesnt mean she wont produce some really good bud. have u ever considered keeping mothers and growing from clone. seeds are a crap shoot atleast with clones you kno what your getting everytime. dont get me wrong i grow out seeds too but for my main run i use clones so i can get the yeilds and phenos i like.

2 feet tall and nice and bushy, sounds alrite to me, depends how the internodal spacing is, the mor flower sites there are the better.

I also have to add, before my plants showed sex properly, I thought all the males were females and vice-versa. Hence my single female got the worst spot in the growroom!

I think I have definatly learned something from this grow now

it doesnt really take alot of time or space to keep a mother. its not much different than keeping a house plant. next time you do a grow just save the best plant (after youve smoked it). reveg it or clone it before hand. then just take clones when your ready. that way u can get the yeilds you need to get you to the next grow. i dont kno about u but i like to have atleast a couple ounces to last me the 2 months between grows. better yet lets just make that a cool pound...

mrjim5000 i take u save yr stalks and cutting to a bonus resin stash every now and then? that will giv u a bit of time to get som size b4 flowering.

I sprouted 22 plants and 4 of them are runts. Not much you can do about genetics. Enjoy the big 'uns!

I will make two suggestions. If not working from a clone...I recommend buying feminized seeds in the future. They are expensive, but it is worth the money because you do not need to worry about pollen and you won't spend 2 months raising a worthless plant. About your bud-size concerns...I would recommend using additives. There is a bunch of shit designed specifically for the later stages of budding that will enhance size and resin and oil production (weight). Small buds aren't bad though...most of the afghani kush strains are known for their small size and killer potency. Does anyone know whether LSTing produces more of less bud?

not a fan of fem seeds. i can understand there use under certain conditions but really do you want the down sydrome equivalent to a pot plant.

I was never a fan of feminized seeds either,am I'm still not a fan of dutch passion's fem. seeds buyt I would recommend female seeds nl fem. seeds to anyone.I just finished their Ice white widow grapefruit and cindy and only cindy was shitty,it wasnt cindy lol!The other strains surprised the hell out of me,no nanners whatsoever and the potency is really up there.I've grown many expensive strains like soma nycd or nevilles haze that wasnt nearly as good as these.Their white widow and ice especially are in the upper 90 perecentile potency-wise of anything I've grown inside.

I haven't grown to many operations in my time (8-9) but i germ them in demineralized water for 2 days at a water temp of 22 - 23c and usually most of them turn out female. Maybe my luck ? i don't know

Germd 6 THseeds, 5 of them are female and the other one i put down in the first week (growing problems) and the 1 out of the other 2 rc buddah seeds turned out female again !

thanks ballastman those just went on my seed list. i value your opinion any strain your reccomend goes down on paper for consideration.
