Ok my problem is that I am getting little brown spots on the tops of my fan leaves, The under side of my fan leaves are no affected by this. It started at the canopy, and is slowly spreading to the other fan leaves. Any ideas what this could be? It does not seam to be affecting the growth of my buds? I dont think. This is my first time growing so I dont have anything to compare it to. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks very much.

Looks like a Calcium deficit to my old eyes Samantha. Cal mag is the cheese (remedy:) )

Hi Samantha, I would still say it is a C problem, but for a second lets talk brown spot's, there are only 2 other problems i can think of that show brown spot's, a Manganese def' or you can be heading for a lock-out from PH problems and this is the warning sign?, I don't believe it is either, as I said I think it's Calcium, maybe you need to add more or maybe too much brings the same symptoms as a deficit? I don't know to be honest. Have a look at this pic, this is the closest I can find to your problem, do you think it's close? this is an advanced Cal def'.

If you think it needs a touch more Calmag it's easily sorted at least
Anyone else got any idea here?

oh no!

oh no!

Oh ya sorry I forgot to say that I add 2 tsp of calmag to each gallon of water on the days I dont add nutes. Thanks for trying to help me! any other ideas?

Back off on the calmag. I have used that soil for years and rarely do I need calmag at all. Some strains want a lil extra now and then, but not much. I bet it's getting built up in the soil. I'd jus stick with the regular nutes and plain water. The spots won't go away, but they won't get worse either. Good luck! BC

Thanks for the help everyone, I was just thinking do any of you think it could be a cause of my plant not getting any real fresh air? The reason I ask this is because I am growing down in my basement inside of a DR150, I have no real fresh air getting to my plant at all. I just have the passive intake bring in the air that is just sitting in the basement. I thank you all for your time and help!

Re' Cal-Mag

Re' Cal-Mag

Hi BC, Do you know? if you give too much would you get similar spots?
I tell you what Samantha, your lamp is a little close at 8 inches, that could exasperate your problems. Fresh air is vital unless you use Co2.

It depends on your water. Mine doesn't have much cal or mag in it, so if I don't add it I see problems pretty quickly. I didn't lime my soil the first time around which probably hurt my cause too.

too much...

too much...

Yes, it will. Sometimes spots, sometimes all the very tips (edges) all along the outside of the leaves. Maybe the spots are too much cal and the edges are too much mag? That's where deficienies affect them anyway? I don't know for sure on that, but I do know it will do it. I know calmag will build up in the soil too. I'd be willing to bet on it being the problem. lol Does that help? BC

Adding too much calcium caused burning leaf margins for me because it locked out K.

It does help lots BC, I think i would start fresh with a good flush Samatha and see from there, hope you sort it, I know they're fine now but it will affect your bud development ultimately if not sorted.

Hey Rook! I have missed you! I got my piece in the mail today! its pretty cool Ill take some pics 2morow and show you what It looks like.
Haha, I missed you too, gc's not the same without ya! Nice :) Have you broken in the piece yet? I finally made a run, found a collective close to home, it only took me about 15 minutes! Lol, I'll definitely be going back there. It was a little more expensive than SF but definitely worth it.

Congrats on the Collective find! Nope I have not broken in my piece yet I have to wait for this damn plant to finish and cure before Ill be able to do that, I have not smoked in 6mos now, LOL needless to say I am getting very anxious, lol!

I'm thinking it looks like manganese deficiency the more I look at the deficiency charts. Calcium deficiency seems to mainly cause stunting but idk about spots like that.

I can see yer point. I've always used hard water. Do you use 2 tsp every other watering though?

Tiger bloom and big bloom have cal and mag, plus the soil has ground oyster shell as well. Do you use FFOF soil and the nutes? BC
