tinctures!

So I have some high proof (110 and 125 proof) and I wanted to make a stem and keif cold tincture in the freezer for about 10 days with shaking. I have decarboxylated all the heady stems, but I don't know what to do with the keif.....? is there a way to decarb. keif?... or would i need to if it has dried, and is from well cured buds? any import/experience is good.


by the way I have done a 151 rum tinc. with only heady stems that were decarbed. and it was powerful! soaked it without staining for 2 months, and taste was still good, and super potent product! (DECARB HELPS ALOT!!!!)

If the herb is frozen to start with, it makes the water soluable things (chloro??? and more)less likely to saturate the alcohol tincture. You will get some but not as much. Almost all extraction methods use some sort of coolilg/chilling procedures not counting dry kieffing.

EVERYTHING is less soluble in freezing alcohol than room temperature alcohol- THC, chlorophyll, ...everything.

This is a tincture, not quick ISO...

There are so many advantages to making tincture out of pure kief that I'm not sure why you would want to use stems.

First, pure kief contains far more THC than even bud, but you need far less alcohol to soak it because the volume is so small. As a result, each dose of tincture is minuscule but potent. No evaporation necessary. Putting stems in your tincture necessitates a larger volume of alcohol for extraction and therefore decreases potency (measured by THC per ml).

Second, pure kief tincture contains no chlorophyll and tastes much better than tincture made with leafy or cellulose matter.

Third, you don't need to strain tincture made with kief only. Just decant the alcohol off of the kief dregs. Throw the kief dregs into your next batch of cannabutter or stem tincture. This saves a huge amount of time and energy.
