Timers

How long do the digital last?
I bought one a few months ago to replace the last one. During the last power outage that flickered before she finally went out, I lost the trigger part of the timer.
Meaning that it did not trigger the flip flop relay box off before the flip...needless to say the digital ballast did not like doing a hot flip and lost bulbs ta boot.

SO is the flickering of the power doing something to the timers?

It's actually better to have multiple lamps coming on at slightly different times. Digital may be precise, but I've never had any 2 that kept the same time. Good luck. -granger

For the timers that I have it flips the power off to the DIY flip box than the other timer triggers the relays to flop the other room.

All in about 15 mins. Can those timers be that precise?

Digi Ballast F**ken hate hot flips.

The mechanical timers, which watts showed in his picture, are the way too go. You can wire them up to suit your purposes and they last a long time..
I'm still using one I bought in the early 1980's...

Also, you can use more than one set of on/off pins with them if you want to...

Intermatic digital timers are all garbage, even the mechanical ones can be out by 15 to 20 minutes with the pins. Best brand for digital timers is Omron or Honeywell.
