im planning to put my plants outside early may what should i have my timer set to if i live in nothern ny. like what am on and what pm off

is what I'd do.

I always run my lights at night. Never bothered to adjust the timer when i took plants outside. They will adjust fine, so run your timer whenever works best for you

Do not set your timer to a day length longer than that of the anticipated transplant date. Some strains are extremely sensitive to any shortening of the day length and may flower almost immediately when put outdoors if this precaution is not observed.

A 14 hour day length looks about right for your area, 42N-43N.
