Hows it goin everyone ,

During my research I came across this bad boy - check it out : Timer/Subpanel all in one ...

http://www.ecogrow.com/index.cfm?product=1481&special=new

Obviously the issue is one of extension cords ...

Either you plug this in at your dryer hook up and run multiple extension cords for your lights/ballasts and 120v accessories OR you find one huge ass 240v 30 amp extension cord to run from the 240v dryer recepticle (plug) to your grow room so you only have one cord running instead of 3-6 ... BUT I haven't been able to locate a 240v extension cord , let alone one that could handle 30 amps , after 20 mins. of google searches ... I'm thinking it might have to be custom made ??

At this point i'm also thinking either i'd have to have another 30 amp breaker added with a 240v recepticle which would be put into the desired grow room or find/make one of those extension cords ... What do you electricians out there think ??

You cant get a 220v extension cord you have to go to home depot or something and pick up the 8guage wiring (double check for the wattage, and amperage) you'll be using. Then you buy a dryer plug and attach the two.

220 & 240 is the EXACT SAME THING! just like 110-120

The power on the grid fluctuates between these two voltages...people just refer to them as if they are different...too confusing!

pretty funny... i found many 30 amp extension cables....

2 years later then you guys tho...

just wondering if it IS ok to run a 30 amp extension cable about 25 feet to a pre-wired power box that will allow me to use 240 and 120v outlets....

Yes... but I would just run 10-3 w/g romex over head.... from your panel to your box....
