Time to start topping? (pic)

This is my seedling I got from a bag. 2 questions... Is it big enough to top yet? And will I be able to tell if it's a male or female yet?

What do you guys think?

Too soon to see if its female? If its not in flower, yeah, probably so, since its not a clone its probably not gonna be throwin preflowers like a clone would.

Time to start topping? That's up to you. Me--I would be topping at that stage, yes.

yeah wait until you definitely see flowers man, you dont want a big male in there, just hold out for a bit and then you can top it once you see the pistils,

Are you sure you want to top it? look up some FIM grows, it could benefit you in this grow

Top it(or FIM) and throw it in flower.

I highly doubt you're going to be able to sex a plant from seed that small. You're gonna have to flip it.

IMO...it doesn't matter if you flip or wait for preflowers...you'll know at the same time.

Some people would top now for just 4 heavy branches. Some wait. Some never do top.

The plant with show maturity...flowers...when it's mature, not before.

The real question is...what kind of grow are you doing?

If it is an Indica it will show Pre-Flowers around the 8 th inter node or be about 6 weeks old or so. It varies with the genetics.

If it is a Sativa.....forget pre-flowers.

If you want to Top it pinch off the top growth when it starts its fifth node. It will give you a Crown of buds. Four equal branches.
