time lapse photography- who uses what, plantcam?

I love seeing time lapse photography of grows, it makes the plants look so alive and condenses all the excitement of a grow into a couple minute video. I want to put a camera in my grow box, in addition to the joy of watching your plants grow at hyper speed, you would be able to use the footage to diagnose plants and easily observe effects of modifications (lights, nutes, design, ets.)

I stumbled upon this product in my research and was wondering if anyone uses it or a similar product:

I wonder if it takes pictures 24/7 or if there is a way to deactivate it during the dark periods? It does not look like it has a flash, but if it did do you think a couple of short high lumen flashes each night could mess with the photo-period?

It is a single use product and certainly seems to have its advantages (cheap!) but i know there are a lot of digital cameras out there which are time lapse capable, and would be able to do other things like take real pictures. So let me know what yall use

I have been thinking about doing this also but I am leaning towards using a usb webcam but I have surpuls computers laying about so I just have to get a decent cam. I like that the webcam is small and they make mounts for them and once it is setup you don't have to touch it. I can't find any reviews on the plant cam you linked to and they don't give much detail in the specs like what resolution the pics are at so I am leery of it but that is how I roll. Let us know how it goes, I would love to see what you come up with.
