hey guys i was checking on my girls today inside my growlab tent i started from seed back in july i notice one of them on only one leave had one adult thrip and a few larva on the underside i threw away the leave and checked everyone else no sign of anything my question is can i use spinosad as a root drench? i have neem but from what i read spinosad is the best for em
any advice or help would be great :good:

Why root drench?

Spinosad should be foliar applied. Worst case those larva would only be on the soil surface, and misting the top of the soil should do that.

It works great on Thrips. Spray once, and again a week later.

Should never see them again.

This, for 3rd party verification

Why drench? Because one of Thrips stages is subterranean, not just on surface. Drenching breaks the life cycle before they become adults and start laying more eggs. I recommend a spray and a drench same day, repeat in 7 days, regardless of how it "should" be done. Check other people's experience in the Thrips sticky in this forum. -granger

while thrips love soil, i ONLY find them on the leaves/flowers, but since they drop when scared you should def keep the soil in mind
if i spot some ill cover the soil with plastic, turn the pot/plant 90degrees and shake it well, from bottom to top and top to bottom, combined with removing affected leaves it can make pesticides not necessary

wow I did not know you have to drench. I just had some and 2 weeks of spraying every 3rd day got rid of them. maybe the easiest pest to eradicate.

I spray with azamax, wait 5 days, spray with take down, wait 5 days, spray with neem. That kills pretty much any pest.
