Will this work as long as i give the roots enough space to spread out? I have three seedlings in a pill bottle that sprouted about a week ago, there doin good but need a transplant. I was thinking about LST'ing them away from each other, and transplanting into a huge pot, Maybe Have the final pot size be around 20-25 gallon or somthing. have three or four transplants,,, Idk, what do you guys recomend? Besides spliting them up, will a big container fix this problem? Thanks alot, Arab

I'd split them up now and put them in little 4 inch pots for a couple weeks before transplanting up.I'd bury 3/4's of the stalk if gangly and keep the tops 1/4 inch under tube flo's for a couple weeks, then I'd trnasplant up.

I think im too late

I think im too late

What happens if the roots are already surrounding the outside of the pill bottle? Should i still split them up? Do i use a sharp knife to split them up or will a huge pair of shears work better?

What will happen if i leave them together, is'nt it like a soil bed? I thought the reason more than 1 per pot is a no-no was because of the roots crowding? Cant i leave them together as long as i give them enough soil to spread into? Idk, i dont really want to cut into the roots like that giving them all that stress, isnt there another option?

First off, it is likely that at least one will be a male, which you will kill. Two plants in a large pot is quite doable.

Second, I grow in these nice "rubber-maid" type tubs that I get from Walmart for $4. They are 19 gallons each, so even if I have 3 plants in them, it still works out to 6 gallons per plant! Usually I go for 2 in a tub, but I've done 3 with no hassle. I drill some holes in the bottom and use the lid to catch any leakage. I LST the plants and they do just fine.

Nature does not put each plant in a separate container and unless you want to put them into individual pots later- what's the hassle? Just give them lots of room and good soil!

Use something other than a pill bottle next time to start your grow. It is just too small! To start my plants, I use 12 ounce paper cups, then transfer to 1 gallons for vegging, then to the tubs. Happy growing!- Granny

Thats whats up StormCrow, thats what i was thinking about doin. i Figured id have atleast one male to pull, thats exspected. I seen those tubs you were talkin about the other day. i seen some 20+gallon ones. Yeah, i really should have planted in somthing bigger, its funny but sucks all the same, theres a tall vigorous one, a medium less vigorous one but growth slowed, and one that is even younger and hasnt grown much at all. Once i transplant the roots should spread out nicely, and give room for the smaller ones to catch up with the big one. Yeah i need to transplant soon, reason the plants are like that is because theirs no more room for the roots to grow, once i transplant they'll do quite well. Peace for now

If you can split them you'll end up with more bud. When there too close together they don't get adequate light. Also individual plants are easier to transplant.
