Three leaf sprout

As stated, I have a new sprout today, and it has a third single blade leaf on it. It seems to have occured on the sprout leaves as well, although it's two that are fused together on one side. Should I pull this sprout, or hang on to it?

Provided its not a male.

Sometimes they keep the condition thruout the main stalk, sometimes they work it out.

Alright, thanks. That's good to know, definately have to leave it then and hope that it's a female. If it continues up the stalk will I notice a significantly higher yield from this plant than the others? Also, if the plant continues the condition, would it continue in a clone of the plant, and would it face the same posssibility of being worked out during growth?

i am sure that it would continue into the clones you clip and if its works out in the mom it should be the same in her babies...

One further question. Could one breed the plant in the future to produce offspring with the same trait or is this a one time mutation? Sorry if this is obvious, I don't fully understand genetics, I know bits and pieces, but am learning more everyday.

I'm assuming u CAN breed this trait as u can any normal trait. To increase ur chances i'd try to find a male and female with the same mutation which would be rather difficult... I also am assuming it isnt a dominant trait, therefore crossing it it with an inferior plant and then growing out 100 seeds u prolly will get a few that are similar, but i highly doubt it would be worthwhile...

Thanks, the thing I really wanted to get at was the issue of whether this actually is a breedable trait or not. I'm not in any position to breed right now, but I'd like to know out of curiosity.

Look up both my evolution thread and my new part time thread, it discusses and shows offspring of this trait, together with a few generations.

Just got through both threads, read in 4 different sittings. A lot to take in, slightly confusing, but all very very interesting. I definately recommend both those threads to anyone interested in Tri-Foliar plant breeding.
