THose with NL #% x Bigbud experience, please help

I will soon be in the process of selecting a mother from a vareity of flowering northern lights #5 x bigbud seeds.

What should I look for in a suitable mother? This is a sog cab grow with limited height so I want short single cola plants. Other than close internodes and yeild, is there any specific phenotype I should look for that shows itself with this kind of plant?

Any other advice would be helpful.

Um.. Grow them out, then you will know wich one you like best.
Got some of these babys just started in my mini-cab along with some c99, you will get a lot of variation, the short phenos obviously being more NL influenced, the taller one did yeild better although I did LST it (on my last run)

i also suggest growing them out and finding the most suitable mother, if height is an issue you can always lst them or top (topping stuns the growth) them

lst however wont hurt your plant and will most likely increase your yeild

That is why I LSTed my tall pheno (to keep it short, using CFLs) and it was the biggest yeilder, the shorter pheno was about 10-12" tall I think, flowered from seedling that is..

My maximum plant height is 32 inches after adding pot size and reflector. I have a 6' ceiling. I ran the NL x BB from Nirvana a few times and found it very sativa leaning. I put my plants into flower at 8" and ended up with 28 -32 inch plants. Smaller than that also worked well. Prune off all the lower branches and spindly branches. It likes to bush out. I kept two phenomes for a while that had identical smoke and were good yielders. One tended to split if topped from the weight of the two top buds. It grew better single cola. Once topped it took a lot of work to control it.

The buds also grew wierd calyx spirals and little offshoot nugs. Didn't really work for my set up. I had better luck with WHite Widow.

Good luck.

I have a pheno flowering now that likes to bush out, but doesn't grow tall - very strong horizontal branching, and round buds. This the first time I've really put it through it's paces, and I'm expecting at least 150g from a 30" plant (expected height - it's still stretching, though slowly at 20 days).

Pictures soon...
