Try some neem oil

Try some neem oil

Or that is the advice I have been given. I know what you are going through. The exact same thing has happened to me and I asked several times, and neem was the consistant advice that I got. Your handle is the one I used back in the CB days of 25 years ago! I started a thread called "those Damn spider mites" a while back in the growers forum. The thread isn't active anymore, but it should still be there. Let me know if you have any trouble finding it.

oh i hate spidermites I've had them on 3 of my grows-- each time during flowering:(
I've used safers incecticidal soap . Claims it is safe to use up to a few day befor harvest and is readily availavle anywhere. it does turn the pistals brown though. Its never gotten compleatly rid of them but kept them under control. Someone even sugested putting it on a towel and wiping both side of the leaves to avoid getting the buds.

good luck

get rid of them forever

get rid of them forever

spider mites: put one teaspoon of neem concentrate per 5 gallons of watering water. I put it right in with my nutes and ph down. after 2-3 weeks they're gone for good. Don't let them get started they will eat up your grow.

stay green & safe

I agree....early prevention is the key...though I DONT recommend using neem during flowering....

why not?

why not?

The bottle doesnt say not to and it is organic. Why wouldn't you recommend it during flowering? DzerTom say he uses it in the water when flowering. Yes or No?

neem is an antifungal too, so it wont cause mold unless you are super late in flower and have monster buds that dont breathe well.. if thats the case then fuck it.. use manual removal or a neemsoaked towel like someone mentioned... prepare ahead of time for the next cycle.. get 3 roachbombs (yes three) and seal up your grow room.. fog the shit out of it... toss one in and let it fog out, then in with the next one, and the next one in the same fashion..
murder em bastards

Hey all, I just thought that I would give my 2 cents worth. I have had the same problem with Mites and found that FoxFarm Don't Bug Me works great! It contains Pyrethrins made from Chrysanthemum flowers. Kills harmful garden pests on contact! Allows for repeated use without hurting humans or the environment. Can be applied up to the day of harvest.

Check your local hydro store for details.

Keep smokin,

dezer does that neem oil really work fine adding in your nutrient solution?

The plants drink it up and disperse it through th effected leaves do they?

Thanks for any info,
ive never had the bastards, never really thought about it but its good to learn preventative measures.

I didn't read all the replys, so someone may have already said so, but use Neem oil - exactly as the bottle instructs, and you'll make it. As far as getting the neem off the buds, just wash the buds right in the shower prior to harvest. It won't hurt them at all, since they get rained on in nature all the time with no ill consequences ;)

We just had mites. HAD being the operative word. Neem is organic and harmless to humans - but devestating to pests!

Neem oil does not kill the bugs overnight, it causes them to become ill, not reproduce, not eat, not advance into full growth, etc... It could take a week or 2 before you see a dramatic change, but it does work.

Keep smokin,
