Do you hate mondays? I did at one time but quitting my job fixed that. :D

Now my weekends are free and I enjoy returning to what I call my work.

So here I am hard at work and photographing some BOG Strains of interest. They are coming to fruition and we have 3 things to check out.

First my Sour Bubble 3rd bx from seed demo plant. Despite a few recurrent spider mites the plant did pretty well for the time vegged. I vegged the plant 6 weeks or less and it finished in a 3 gallon pot. I have flowered it 48 days and it goes into darkness in a couple more days. Some water restriction has begun to increase final resining but its coming along nicely. :sasmokin:

Next I have the Lifestars to show you. 48 days each and the one on the left is the clone mom while the one on the right is the seed plant from 1st bx seeds.

The clone bud below is frosty but the seedgrown plant is tighter and frostier.

First the clone bud and then the seedgrown lifestar.

Beautyful Lifestars Bog, my man! I have terrific incentive now as my lifestars are three weeks into flower. I'm looking foward to seeing buds like yours. Thanks for the show. You do the best threads. I would love to see some full plant shots when you have time.

[BushyOldGrower] "Some water restriction has begun to increase final resining but its coming along nicely."

I'm a firm believer in "drought" conditions in the last week or two too!*....but that's not always possible outdoors unfortunately...I saw online a Dutch grower who placed sheets of plastic on the ground so his girls could keep the soil a bit drier in the last month. I like to restrict water in the last 10 ~ 5 days for potted pot plants

why not start a new thread Bog?...a photo essay ...comparing water restricted and normal watered clones....my observation has been the H2O restricted clones will have tighter, slightly smaller buds, but will be, again very slightly, more resiny, ..and will finish a few days earlier........I wonder if macros will pick that up?

and it also would be good to see a photo essay on the "48hrs in the dark" vrs "under 48hrs of 12/12"....again, would macros or microscopes be able to tell the difference?

* here's part of a little ditty that has stuck in my brain since I was a but a wee nipper..........."Oneone" was a racehorse, "Onetwo" was one too, "Oneone" won one race and "Onetwo" won one too!

Holy Shit Babba!

Holy Shit Babba!

That Bogglegum plant is holding its own with your other monsters. Nice outdoor plants and a nam myoho renge kyo that they continue to finish as nicely for you buddy. :D

Smokey, the buds will be enjoyable I am sure. You got any early flowering pics you want to show us man? Please feel free as anyone may show anything they like in this thread.

Chamba, REZ and Soma and I agree that some water restrictions about the last week does help plants to finish up and I agree that lots of water can extend flowering time as can continued nuting. Shorter days can also be employed to get plants to resin up nicely at the end. At the very end up to 48 hours of darkness and drying before the chop seems to help but some feel that thc has been shown to decline. Most likely this depends on whether or not the plant has reached peak thc or not yet. Further studies are needed and hopefully others will try to repeat these experiments to determine the truth and validity of our observations.

Indigo, you will find a lot of friendly people here and I am sure you will enjoy them all.

Growdoc, I have been attempting to rid myself of them organically and so far I have managed to get one of my areas clear of them. Soma recommends using neem oil spray in a 10% solution for the first 4 weeks of flowering and in veg occasionally. He says that they still can recur at the end of flowering but he doesnt treat them then. He just removes the webs and insects with a vacuum hose. Hopefully I will get rid of them eventually and I think I do use the no pest strips which arent organic but they just help keep them down and dont eliminate them. So whats the best way to totally rid yourself of them and what if they come back anyways?

This mystery plant is at about 4 weeks flowering and I dont know which of my strains it is. It sprung up in my yard where I had dumped many pots. It looks a little like a BMR but there is no smell as yet. This plant is spidermite free despite coming in from outdoors. Ever notice how the spider mites only get bad when a plant gets sick or on the decline late in flowering? BOG

BOG Mystery at 3 weeks...

BOG Mystery at 4 weeks...

I sprayed bleach all around and cleaned up all the waste in this room.

I harvested the Lifestars but I had a couple pics...

The seedgrown plant was indicaish...

those were at about 40 days flower and they took 50 days total. BOG :D

I know it looks a bit strange but by 3rd bx the Lifestar should straighten out a bit.

And that plant was placed in a bigger pot late in flower as it was flowered most of the time in a 2.5 and it was timed wrong so it was transplanted too late. No benefit was gained as the last transplant was done too late but it was flowered in a bigger pot than I stated earlier. It just didnt root it. BOG

Sorry as I didnt mean to mislead when I stated I finished this in a 3 gallon pot. I was out looking at the pot left over and its much bigger.

BOG,You know as well as i do that there is no way to totally kill off mites, there eggs can take a nuclear blast...or so it seems... The best thing that you can do in your situation is to have a good supply of predators, combinations of several types will go better then just one kind... as there is food the will stay, when the food is scares they will die off. This can be very expensive but i recomend this because you save time and energy not to mention stress. I hope this can help you... i have used everything from neem to gas, use a bug to kill a bug!

Well, yeah thats organic and another way I should try. Thanks doc but where do I get the right kinds?

The dirty fingernail thing is something I try and ignore. Kinda a trademark of mine anyways and I clean them all the time. Dirt is dirty for sure mon but it washes right off. :D BOG

Ohhhh... u are on the wrong side of the pond for me to help you there... i get mine from brussels directly BRIMEX is the company name... I would do a google and find a wholesaler or call up the largest fruit import in your area, they also have some predators and should be able to help you. I wish i could help more...

What is the best spider mite predator?

Spider mite predators are able to consume hella mites. At least 20 young mites or 7 adults can be eaten aday . There are several varieties to choose from , and usually u wanna have 2 different varieties . I beleive the way u determine which ones to choose goes by growin environment i.e. temp and humidity. Order online , grow shop and some nursurys have 'em!

On the subject of sprays , my expierience is that I dont spray anything after 3 weeks bloom . I tried neem oil 4 weeks from harvest and didn't like the results , seemed to fuck with 'em . Never had mite's but alotta ppl have had good results with the predators . Give 'em a go , especially if your battling em endlessly!
