Ok.. I am on day 15 of my 5 plant northern lights grow. I am using 400 MH lights and my soil is the only organic soil I could find in my area especially this time of year. I cant make my own because I cant easily locate the components.

The soil is Master Nurserys Gardeners Gold.

All natural rich blend of Fir bark fines, forest humus, sphagnum peat moss, perlite, worm castings chicken manure, bat guano, kelp meal and pH balanced to 6.5 with oyster shell and dolomites limes. For use in all indoor/outdoor potting containers and raised bed applications.

I cut the soil with some promix and 1/3 perlite. So far plants are doing well... They are currently in 1 quart containers and will be transplanting in about a week.

My plan is to wait until after i transplant and the following week start using Liquid Seaweed half strength weekly.
When I finally start to flower I will use Indo bat guano and bio bloom using this schedule.

Vegetative:

Week 1: Nothing
Week 2: Feed with 1/4 strength Liquid Fish (5-1-1) *if yellowing
Week 3: Feed from soil
Week 4: Foiler feed with Liquid Seaweed (0-0-1)
Week 5: Feed from soil
Week 6: Foiler feed with Liquid Seaweed (0-0-1)
Week 7: Feed from soil
Week 8: Foiler feed with Liquid Seaweed (0-0-1)

*Use Epsom Salt if any Mg def.

Flowering:

Week 1: Feed from soil
Week 2: Feed with Liquid Seaweed (0-0-1) (1ts)
Week 3: Feed with Bio-Bloom (1-2.5-2) (1ts)
Week 4: Feed with Bio-Bloom (1-2.5-2) (2ts), Indonesian Bat Guano (0.5-12.5-1.5), Liquid Seaweed (0-0-1) (1ts)
Week 5: Feed with Bio-Bloom (1-2.5-2) (3ts), Indonesian Bat Guano (0.5-12.5-1.5) (2ts), Mollasses (1ts)
Week 6: Feed with Bio Bloom (1-2.5-2) (4ts), Indonesian Bat Guano (0.5-12.5-1.5) (2ts), Mollasses (1ts)
Week 7: Feed with Bio Bloom (1-2.5-2) (4ts), Indonesian Bat Guano (0.5-12.5-1.5) (2ts), Mollasses (1ts)
Week 8: Flush (plain water)
Week 9: Flush (plain water)

actually i copied this schedule from someone else but he hasnt actually used this yet and is using different soil

Is this enough to give me a hardy harvest? Any critiques would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

Dan

well i think its pretty hard to follow a schedule... just feed with nutes whenever your plants need it. its good that you have a schedule though...shows your pretty organized but i think you should try it out, then develop your own since there are so many factors that could affect it. hope that helps

Also, the first three weeks i heard was better to use EWC but never had any experience with liquid fish... but then again your mix already contains a lot of nutrients... maybe someone more experienced can help ya out... im trying my first organic grow too.

I did think however that it would be much simpler to feed with a soilless mix like sunshine mix. Since it contains hardly any nutrients (dolomite lime is the only i believe), its much easier to feed IMO

Hey Dan:

Your potting soil looks great. Having a base of tree fiber and forest humus will establish a lasting soil suitable for remixing, if thats in the plan. I work off a similiar mix, but include more compost (about 20%). Mushroom compost, composted manure, and bagged EW castings are great products, but creating your own compost is best.

Little plants make roots, and may need a P supplement. I add 2-4-1 fish fert early in veg, and the 5-1-1 fish later once they have lots of new growth. New Deal is exactly right the schedule should only guide you until your knowledge of the plant's particular growth pattern can take over. Use that schedule as a guide, and deviate when the plants tell you to.

During the transition from Veg to bloom(wk 8 veg/wk 1 bloom) I feed high N (5-3-3, 10-6-6, 12-7-7) to accomodate any stretch. This is generally a one-time feeding. During weeks 3-7 of flower dont feed them automatically, rather watch the plants closely. When they drink heavily and dont grow overtly they are making roots in preperation for heavy flowering, feed during these weeks. Other weeks they may seem to change readily each day without interference, just water this week. Finally, back off feeding if you see any leaf tips turning yellow or brown.

All the best brother, hope that helps.

What about the bio bloom and indo bat guano? Think thats enough for big buds? The plants seem to love the soil so far.. fast new growth daily.
