I live in Oregon and am closing watching this bill and HB 2919. Actually just called the Revenue Committee today to find out where it is at on the agenda.
Anyhow, I really take objection to section 20(3) a,f, and i
talking about: the applicants use of alcohol, drugs, controlled substances in excess; must be of good repute and moral character; and demonstration of financial responsibility.
I really want it to pass but I hope they rethink these items.
I doubt they pass, rumor has it the med community in Oregon is against anything resembling legalization after watching CO and WA for six months and how the feds are dealing. Much more leeway with the med versions, than the hemp and legalization process. Is that damn Paul Stanford behind those bills, oh no, not again.? That's as bad as putting language in a bill making the state atty general a mj advocate, really, you think this is gonna happen, given all the fed money that comes into Oregon, especially with the timber bullshit, and you really think people are gonna pass a law like that. It didn't pass last time, it won't pass again. Oregonian ain't givin up their excess grey area proceeds to the state coffers, trust.
OMMP is exempt in this bill as is homegrowing your own 6 mature plants and 24 ounces of marijuana.
For the time being tho. I mean the OMMP can be exempt but the state can start denying applications and renewals left and right. Also if people can grow for personal, a lot of patients will be dropped by registered growers, hence a large amount of distrust.
