Thinking about moving to Colorado.. Where is a good place to look for homes to rent?

Looking to grow both indoors and outdoors so some land would help but not a massive outdoor grow.. What areas should I start looking in and how do I go about it?

Honestly it depends on your income, rents in Denver have gotten pretty crazy and even with the high prices it is pretty damn hard to find anything good. I would expect that to come down a bit. There are tons of great towns along the front range area though, I am actually looking to move to Longmont. Personally I like the towns north/west of Denver more than the stuff down south towards CO Springs, CO Springs did have lots of affordable housing options, but it seemed to be a hardcore military town and that just isn't my scene.

Not sure about their web presence, but most hydro stores I have been in here have had flyers and such for grow friendly landlords. I know I have seen several at HTG in commerce city, you could give them a call.

Currently I live in Aurora, everyone seems to think it is some sort of ghetto so it is relatively cheap. If you want to be in the Denver area you do get a good bang for your buck here and if you have lived in many other cities, this is definitely not the ghetto.

edit: I should point out to really research how you are planning to make a living once you get here. Lots of people are like "Im just gonna grow dope" but it really isn't that easy to get started legally and there isn't a good way to move product from an illegal grow into the legal market. You can ship it out of state, but they have gotten really tight on that sort of thing, although I would say 99% of whatever is still going right on through. Personally, I thought there would be some mechanism to move a lb or two legally as supplemental income per how I hear CA is, nope, so no rent offsets for this guy, guess i just gotta smoke all this pot.

The people here have gone mad,1500 a month for a one bedroom,2500 and up for a shithole bungalo,Its the mile high city allrite and the fucking rent is gone thru the roof,a city full of adults renting rooms from each other just to live, greedy motherfuckers charging for background checks and credit checks, dont even apply with a score under 620,etc etc...thats here in denver, plenty of work in denver, not ONE cheap place to rent.....ya want cheap,500 to 1000 a month in Pueblo will get you a sweet crib or house, plenty of work in Pueblo but the pay is half Denver.Plenty of people like me livin in motels and goin to work everyday waiting and hoping something comes up cuzz I like Denver better than Pueblo,if I was comin strictly to grow I would go to Pueblo for cheap living, everywhere else is Mad Crazy Expensive
On the positive side,Im in fucking Colorado, its fucking awesome, the weather, the people, the city, and more importantly the weed, Colorado gets a AAA rating from me,I love this place
But WHO can afford to live here, really, your 2 bed 1 bath 1950 built bungalo is NOT worth 1800 a month ;)

Worth is determined by the market. Rent will stay high, as long as people keep moving here.

It's great for the city, and it's great for those with rentals.

God forbid those fucking landlords do credit checks... lol.

Lakewood, Englewood, and Aurora are on the cheaper side. South of those areas you get into the 400k+ homes on into the Millions.

Don't expect to run any outdoor in Highlands Ranch or Lone Tree though.

I do not live there but have visited many times. My favorite place is Fort Collins. What's the scene like there these days? Rent stupid? College town so can't be to damn high. Beautiful state and I can't wait to go back for a visit and hit up horse tooth reservoir and some killer food and drinks!

Foco is nice, I love it, but rental situation is no better than Denver, Boulder, etc... It's fucking tough. Hard to find a crummy apartment for under a grand, VERY few houses to choose from under $1500. Bitch is that unemployment is way down but income hasn't kept up with rental rates. Ability to live here mostly depends on your earning potential. Moving here and expecting to earn a living growing is, from my perspective, an uphill battle. So many others trying the same. I've never grown for any reason other than self-sufficiency. If you have skills and real hustle, maybe. If you're confident in that or can bring home 3/g's a month from other than cannabis income I'd say start planning the gamble. Right now I don't make enough to be able to be able to move somewhere more affordable. ("make good money five dollars a day... made any more I might move away" - Anyone in co need an aluminum welder with mechanical & electrical skills? - automated greenhouse or complex extraction equipment would be right up my alley - minimal stainless experience, but ability to weld aluminum should make transition not so hard.) If you only care about growing legally and could live in Kansas without wanting to kill yourself (no disrespect for kansas-ites, plains just ain't my place) then east CO is for you and affordable. There ar some places just east of I-25 that won't leave you totally isolated from the "Colorado Experience" but are a bit cheaper. ie, you can see the mountains in the distance, but the smell of the dairy/slaughter house reminds you of where you really are.

I know people that work at the casinos, but they live elsewhere and ride the private bus system up to Blackhawk/Central City to the casinos. It is at least an hour up and back from there in decent weather. Winter is a bitch as the towns there are in the lower mountains. Arvada/Lakewood are a little more conservative but at least the rent is a bit lower and they are on the west side and closer to the casinos. Rent is pretty much high in the Denver area so be ready for that.

Cripple Creek is where the casinos are at.

Gnarly road to drive in the winter/spring. Too high to grow unless you do autos or quick finishing strains. Still very "ify" at 9500 ft. If you like the mountains, West slope.

Bring lotsa cash for Colorado, look at outlying areas of Denver N and NE.

Southern CO...Pueblo still cheap, but utilities high. Has numerous dispensaries. Jobs, unless you are a blue collar worker, are scarce...has the highest unemployment rate in the state. CO Springs slowly coming back from recession.

Different plant counts for different towns, regardless of medical recommendation count. So, I'd watch that. Good luck...

Fort Collins is still a great town. Huge craft beer scene, so if you like your beers, there are so many choices up there. Tons of good food as well. Rent is a little high, but I think it is fair since the town has so much going on.
