They're stressing my plants!!!

My move to the new house is going fine, but I am stuck now with my plants having no lights, no running solution, etc., because a workman screwed up his job and we don't know what time he is coming back to repair it. It will be today, but there is no set time and so I can't take a chance on him seeing my little hobby garden.

I was planning to move them yesterday and turned all the lights and other equipment off early in the day to do that. Then something else happened and I was forced to wait until today. So I decided to just leave the lights off all the day and last night, and then once the move was concluded this morning I would get everything back online with minimal stress to the plants.

But as I said, they are now simply sitting in the open air (indoors of course) waiting to be moved. These are all in NFT tanks by the way. Three tanks.

Will this time-- a day and a half-- without lights and all that do any real damage to my ladies? They are all in their fifth week of flower and doing spectacularly. They are Jack Herer by the way.

Should I be sweating this out or will the plants take this all in stride and be just fine once the move is over?

Whatcha think???

All the best!

Try and get a little battery operated flourescent in there if possible...better than having no lights at all.

Hope your plants are okay man.

No can do...don't have one available to me. Great idea though.

Now the idiot has left to get a part he needs. I can't believe this! *grin*

Thanks mate...I hope they're okay too!

Here's what they looked like a couple of weeks ago. They are HUUUGE now!

Well they should be okay if it's just a couple of days with no light...I've heard it's when you disturb their dark cycle with extra light that things can start to go wrong.

You should be fine.

Again, that's a really good idea guys. My problem is that the plants are not currently situated so that I can use a lamp. They are stanidn in the open while I wait for this fool to finish installing the damned ballcock in the water thingie up in the attic so water will stop pouring onto our patio. *sigh* These people are a joke...

Thanks again for the good ideas guys...you've all been very helpful as usual when I need a little advice. I love this place!

Do you all think they'll be okay though? I should have them all tucked into their new home, lights and water and fans and all sometime in the next six hours.

Thanks!

I wouldn't worry man, I've had worse things happen to my plants and they always bounce back fine....although you may find that flowering takes a few days longer to finish as they may need to get back into the swing of things.

Don't worry...remember they ARE weeds ;)

Here's a photo of the plants...

Here's a photo of the plants...

I took this phot a littlw while ago when the plants were still in the Homebox grow tent.

They look fine to me but I am worried this move will stress the hell out of them. But as healthy as they are shouldn't they be fine??

Thanks!

Yep...I been hangin' onto that little bit of knowledge and thinking they they will come through this alright. If they were in poor health or something I would be far more concerned.

I guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance...*weak grin*

Thanks again everyone!

I would try not to expose them to any light if you can help it...it will only make it worse for them.

Did you just take that photo?

Yeah..well, alittle while ago. Should I slip them back into the tent and keep them in the dark? The reason I am wondering that now is because this fellow might finish at any time and I would have to expose them to the light all over again. Do you see what I mean? I'm trying to keep them as unstressed as possible, but these people have us going back and forth like chickens with no heads, and so I was keeping them at the ready for a quick walk next door with them.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean...why did you take them out of the homebox?

I'd try and leave them where they have been all along until you're sure that the guy has finished whatever he is doing, then move your babies back to the tent and get the grow show back up and running.

It's because when they said they were done working in the new place, we started to get the plants out and make ready top move them next door. Everything was going fine until water starting shooting out of the attic onto the backporch through the emergency overflow pipes.
We called them straight away to complain and they said they would contact their repairman by radio and have him come right back to the house. So we kept the plant quietly sitting in the living room rather than stress them even more by trying to fit the whole lot back into the tent.
What should have taken a hour turned into several, with us not knowing that it would take so long. We expected him to be very fast with his repairs (it was a stuck ballcock valve in the attic overflow tank) but he had to go and purchase one from a local DIY store. That should have taken maybe 30 mins but it took two hours.

Plants still in limbo in the living room.

When he finally finished the repairs and got the hell out of the house for good, we were free to move the plants. But a group of children had moved in and started playing in the park that joins up against out property. They were playing right next to the hedge and could easily see through to what we were doing if they decided to.
So we waited. And waited. And waited some more.

Finally in the early evening we succeeded in getting them into the new tent next door. We tied and fluffed them up again as well as we could, and then plain water was used to fill the tanks. We installed the fans/filter assembly, the silver air ducting and a 600w HPS lamp and let them sit quietly for several hours until midnight, which is their regular time to go to sleep.

I haven't yet looked at them this morning as Ii don't want to open the tent until the lights come on at their regular time, but I'll let you all know how they faired when I can.

Thanks again for all the help folks. You guys are great, as always!
