Hey now all....WTF!! I have 2 diff strains that are supposed to finish in ~60 days but they are going on 70+ with only 1/2 the plant reaching amber trichs! WTF can I do? I have the lights on for 11 off for 13.....lights are the big CFL's....in soil....ANY ideas????

In my (limited) experience, CFLS tend to take a lot longer to finish than if you were using a HID lamp. Also, even though the breeder says 60 days, keep in mind that is under ideal conditions.

Are these clones or from seed? From seed could mean diff pheno of parent(s), and if from clone have you witnessed first hand them finishing in ~60 days? Also search for a thread I started regarding a friend using a light cycle variation from 12/12 like you, I believe people told me that adjusting cycle from 12/12 can result in shorter or longer finishing times. Hope that helps.

Are you looking for a heavy couchlock type stone from your dried nugs? If not, 50% amber is PLENTY of amber. I guess it boils down to what you want out of your weed but I would have cut those plants down already. They are already "finished" in my book.

Usually at 50% amber I'll give a small nug a quick dry and see if it's ready or not but it's really up to you and what you want.

50-60% is perrrrfect. To late and you will notice your calyx looking all dark and dried up with a fried hair... not to mention THC degrading which is bound to happen in some parts of the plant when going past 60-70% there is a picture chart some where..,

I just harvest when most trichs are 'rusty' a yellowish amber not quite a reddish solid yet but just when the majority are about to flip...

Well....what I meant was that 1/2 the plant is amber the rest is clear/cloudy! I have started to cut the amber parts down but the rest won't seem to turn!? Not much nutes left in 'em....1/2 the plants are from seed the rest clones....I dunno what to do ....the last time I chopped when they where like this they where kinda weak in the stone dept.....that is why I wanted to wait until the whole plant was amber......what else can i do?
Thx much

do multi stage harvest, take the ones that are done and put the lights right on top of the ones that are not give it 11 then slowly take it down to 10:30 then 10 it should be done in a week like that. i had the same problem with a plant the tops were done but the middle and bottoms still had white pistols.

thats the problem with cfl's they dont have the best light penetration. you might also think about taking off any fan leaves that are blocking bud sites from light.

The plants being weak in potency could be just strain related and not because they were not finished. If half the trics are amber on some of the buds, the plant is now as potent as it will get. I would cut now. Just my 2 cents.

TGT is right, in half are amber, cut now, normally, one third amber is fully ripe and peak potency. Leaving them longer will not increase potency if they are low potency genes.
