These ghost OGs seem to exhibit both nute burn and deficiency. What should I do?

When I transplanted one into coco (ugro pure max air with perlite) I soaked the coco in pH balanced light nutrient solution for a few hours before transplanting. I think I may have precharged too much because this plant initially showed signs of overwatering and then started to show signs of nute burn and deficiency, as seen in the attached pics.

I've been giving her mostly pH balanced to 6 ultralight nutrient solution or unbalanced pH tap water flush to try to get rid of any salt buildup but she seems to be responding slowly if at all. I'm giving her a foliar spray of some photosynthesis plus and rhizotonic with a touch of calmag and nutes thrown in to try to get her nutrients through the leaves while I straighten out the coco issue but I'm not sure if that's making things worse or better.

What do you think I should do at this point?

Sorry bro that's not nute burn. It's actually a deficiency or ph or both. Always ph water even if flushing or this can happen. For me it was ph and low nutrients in a hydro system. So I had to act fast. Good luck

The burnt tips and yellowing and the edge isn't nute burn just fucked pH?

Nutes burn hits every tip of leaf as if trying to force it out of its system. Kind of random in your pics seems more yellow thru the leaves except the veins and some necrosis mostly on older leaves . I'm hydro but I know coco usually needs lower ph . What is the ec or ph of the runoff?

If I had to take a guess (from the way your plant is drooping). I would say that you are over watering (yes plants do droop from overwatering). I had similar issues when I first used coco. My ENTIRE plant was yellowing making me think it was some sort of def. (especially Mg and/or N). So what did I do??? Gave them more nutes/watering which made it worse.

Though your plant does look like it has a CalMg def. Try going several days in between watering (let your coco dry out a bit)with a light nute plus CalMg (epsom if you don't have CalMg supplement).

Regarding ph try to keep it within 5.5 and 6.5 (a little swing is good). That's the ph going in not run off. Measuring ph and ppm from run off is more complicated than people think. It involves making a slurry and such. Simply measuring the run off will give you a false reading of what's actually in your coco. Don't try to hit and maintain an exact ph, it will drive you nuts and cause more harm than good.

Just my 0.02

Thanks for the good info. I raised the nutrients a little bit (including calmag) and lowered the pH and stopped foliar feeding and they are doing considerably better.

Can you elaborate more on this runoff slurry measurement? I'd like to try it if possible just out of curiosity.

I've never done it myself. But if you do a search for slurry I am sure you'll find tons of info. From what I remember, it involves taking some of your coco, adding a bunch of RO water, blend it in a blender, and then take a reading.

For what it is worth measuring the run off is not necessary. As long as the ph going in is withing guideline (5.5-6.5) and you DON'T let your coco dry out completely, you shouldn't have a problem. Letting the coco dry out will cause salt build up and regardless of what nutes you give. You will get both lock out/def and nute burn.

Lot of people feed until there is run off. From a lot of reading I learned that if you feed a light nute feeding till run off isn't needed either as long as you keep the coco damp (not soaking wet).

Hope that helps.
