These Are Nitrogen Deficient Right?

hi all, these are my Northern lights 1 week after the switch to 12/12.

They really have stretched since i swapped them over but the leaves too light and yellowish, they are under 400w HPS and in Bio Biz all mix. this is only my second grow so don't if this is simple overwatering or i have a nitriogen deficiency.../Problem

i have feed them with weak solution of BioBizz Bio Bloom at every watering (approx 1 ltr per plant per 24hrs) and have also bought Bio Magic but haven't used it yet.

these pic's are taken about 4 hours into the dark cycle)

should i up the feeding regime or fushl them with just fresh water?

cheers all.

Not watering heavy enough

Not watering heavy enough

Looks like maybe iron deficiency but could be other micros. Start by checking ph. Directions for testing are in my signature below. You should be adjusting your fert water after mixing to about ph 6 using an acid or base. Things to use are in my signature below "how to make your own ph up and down". Your watering everyday? This may be too much. Try watering till 20% of what you apply comes out the drain holes in the bottom. Then let the pot dry out well. More water but less often. I doubt you will need to water soil/soilless daily unless outdoors in full sun.

I dont think its as simple as just iron def.....

It looks like iron def because when the plant runs out of iron the leaves its making generally go from dark green to light green....

But where it doesnt look like iron def is those leaf tips are burnt....

that to me is problematical....

Looks like cooler temperature new growth to me...It's happened to me in early flowering before when the temps are cooler. Quick new growth seems to be a bit light...don't worry it'll darken as they get bigger/older.
Bring temps up a bit in lights out if it bothers you

The question that Thunderpob asked was is it nitrogen.....

Probably not....

Nitrogen is the most mobile element and as such the plant is quite easily able to move nitrogen from older to newer growth....

Nitrogen def is seen at the bottom of the plant or limb......

Other elements are far less mobile or immobile so when the plant runs out of a source the leaf manufacturing process shows a problem immediately in the leaves....

Did you say that you just switched to 12/12? What were you using for nutes prior to this and at what rate? Are you letting them dry out and then soaking them? What your giving them now has squat for nitrogen in it and if just switched they will have a growth spurt. If you starved them for N during veg, it could be the problem....

What the plant eats is a combination of whats in the soil and the ferts....

The bottom leaves of his plants look just fine...

Thats where you would see N def...

I dont really see any signs that....

It may happen in the next couple weeks...

but at this point they appear to have gotten plenty of N....

The arent really bud sites yet just newer growth....

This would be how your plants would look say if you put them in the dark for a couple days.... the new growth would look like this.... but given light they would green up quickly.... some of these leaves are pretty old and they dont appear to want to green up...

I dont think its normal....

And as sproutco says it looks most like iron def.... that effects the new growth....

But I still suspect there is something else too....

like cooler temps at night.....

I think you could use some seaweed extract and foliar feed to see if they green up...

TML - temps peak at 24c lights on and 17/18c lights off... sound familiar?
Below 20 c is not good on roots. Water heavier and less often.

Cheers Sproutco

if it is the temperature dropping too low, how long after i crank the temperature up should i expect to see an improvement?

In winter I let my lights out temp drop to 15C (59F) but that's because I believe a greater temp differential leads to better trichrome coverage.
So I get the light early growth often...it always ends up darkening up.

Like Sproutco says anything below 20C and you are going to slow the growth.

Maybe experiment with temp ranges to see what you like the best.

I found an example... This was taken 11 days into flower...you can see all the new growth is much lighter in colour

Man I think everyones read a lot of complex shit into this, for nothing.Did you notice where at the beginning he said the pics were taken 4 hours into the dark period?I dont know why someone would interrupt the dark period to take pics, thats about what your plants are going to look like when they've been taken out from the dark
