Hello there,
I'm writing this post to explain how I make my legendary Hot Chocolate. The process came about out of necessity to made an edible I didn't really need to use the kitchen for (aka parents house). This is also the result of trial and error, so let my follies save you time.
What you need:
-A decent quality 16-20 oz thermos, something that will keep liquid hot for 12 or 24 hours even
-2 Hot Chocolate Powder Packets (must not be fat free. check the box and make sure the nutritional facts include a few grams of fat)
-cheese cloth
-3.5 to 7 grams pot
-butter/coconut oil (optional)
1) To get things ready, grind up your pot as finely as you can. The finer the better, but if its just by hand it will work just fine too.
2) Fill a pot with at least 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.
3) Once boiling, fill the thermos to the top with water. Meanwhile, keep the rest of the water at a low boil.
4) Wait 5 minute (this waiting is pre heating the thermos). During the 5 minute wait, open the packets of hot chocolate and mix both with the ground up bud. Get this ready to add to the thermos in the next step.
5) When the 5 minutes is up, pour the water out of the thermos. Next add the hot chocolate powder and bud to the empty thermos. Here you can add a slab of butter or spoonful of coconut oil if you like, although it's not necessary. I do.
6) Fill the thermos with the water you kept at a boil on the stove. Cap and shake.
7) What 12-24 hours. I try to shake the thermos every few hours, or before I go to bed and when I wake up.
8) Strain the thermos through cheesecloth, and squeeze the cheese cloth to extract all of the drink.
9) This should be good for 2-3 people, depending on the amount of pot, strength and your tolerance.
10) Enjoy!
Hope you like my very easy, scentless and hassle free recipe.
