I was thinking this, too. Maybe they're poor quality photos?

pictures look pretty clear to me bro,,i do wanna try leds,,but i dont know
For now I am happy with my half pound
Well These suckers are dry. Just wanna say the buds look and smell great "lemons", I need to take some shots of the buds for yall later.
But for now I got the final weight: 170 Grams. Certainly not as much as I was hoping for but still 6 ounces from 118 Watts aint bad. if you add up my totals you get 165 but I gave at LEAST 5-10 grams to my trim buddy.
I sure learned alot in this grow, wasn't even gonna be a scrog when I started it! Anyhow if you ask me, I like this strain, it does have potential but this is coming from someone who doesn't have a ton of experience with different strains.
As for the light, uhhh yeah I'm a believer to say the least. I got 1/2 pound for the price of having a 100 watt light bulb on.
Mother plant is vegging right now and once I get some clones vegged off her I will be at it again to try and beat the GPW with led!! I forget the record But I beat My old one at least: I got 1.44 GPW
Unfortunately your GPW calculation is wrong. You yielded .72 GPW, NOT 1.44 GPW.
GPW is based off an area being lit 12/12, you paid for your light to be lit for 24 hrs a day. Yes you did save money on not having to buy a 2nd LED unit, but you still ran TWO areas, BOTH lit 12 hours a day.
So even tho you only used one light, your electric cost was the same as if you ran two lights.
The correct way to calculate GPW for your setup would be;
(Area1 Yield + Area2 Yield) / (Area1 Watts + Area2 Watts)
170g / (118w + 118w) = .72 GPW
Still a very nice yield. Can't wait to see what you do next round.

Not that you don't have a point, but I am still right with 1.44 gpw imo. Lets say someone is growing an auto flowering strain, and flowers at 17hrs a day. they still calculate the gpw by their light size only. Also people use maybe 13 hours of light too, which is never a factor in gpw.
Show me another post where people are calculating their gpw with the time the lights are on! I haven't seen it yet.
I just see people say, I have a 1000w light and I got x buds so I get Z gpw. never do they calculate the time the lights on, or better yet, how many days these lights are on???
1.44 GPW to me. thanks though.
