Not silkscreen materials, though they can be purchased online cheaply and affordably.

I just go to the fabric store and buy some cheap tight weave synthetic fabric for a few bucks. Rubber Bands, free. Kitchen strainer and tea ball, $4.50. Clean new bucket $3.


Here's a shot of the remains of the snake the next day. Notice how much blacker it is due to oxidation caused by breaking the glands by force-folding and hand rubbing.

I like to slice a bit off the snake, heat slightly and press to a wafer for better burn.

I've done ice hash extractions with ghetto methods ....and while they work ok, it is almost impossible to get all the trics and maintain a good quality end product, your end result looks about as good as pressed dry sift ( nothing wrong with that!)..........whereas a professional set of bubble bags will make sure your hash comes in various grades and will be twice as pure due to the many filters it goes through and the yield of trichomes, not contaminants,will be slightly greater....ghetto methods are cheaper, not better

Homemade methods are ok, but it's like compareing a homemade skateboard and a board made for the pros, they both are rideable, but you can do so much more on a modern pro board ...one thing the ghetto methods do is give a new hasher an intro to ice hash,....but with the price of bubble at $70 per gramm ( or whatever it is??) and the inefficiency of ghetto methods, a new set of bags would pay for itself in ease, time and yield over a period of time...if you can afford them - buy a set of bubble bags, if you are not able to afford a set then do it yourself with a ghetto method.

Please don't try to elavate bubble bags to a higher position than they deserve.

Even the ghetto can purcase the microns of the exact same mesh for a few bucks -- absolutely no difference in quality!!!

and my most primative/cheap/ghetto (whatevers) methods of trichome collection is charas. I'll put my puna butter against full melt anyday!

so you are telling me you know where I can buy medical grade screens of the caliber that they use to filter plasma. cool, tell me where I can get them then. If not save your pennys and buy a set of bubblebags, then you will get the point that Chamba is making. You just cant beat the bubblebags. I have experimented with home-made ice hash extractions, multiple screen dry sift systems (similar to the bubblebox but better), and I have done iso, butane, and acetone extractions. Still I have found the bubblebags to produce the best product. Bubbleman has put alot of time and money into his system, and still does. Hell I think there may even be a new bag coming out in awhile, but I will let Bubbleman say more about that when he is ready too.

I agree. The bubblebags can't be beat and if you started with the same buds I would take the bubblehash over the method shown any day of the week. The last forever and are just so much more convenient.

I dont know if I am saying to much, but I heard through my grapevine, that another bag is being added to the 7 bag kit, but it is still being tested further. As for where the bag goes, micron size, etc. As I said earlier I will leave that up to Bubbleman when he sees fit to tell everyone, and I hope I haven't said to much about it as it is.

A buddy of mine is ordering some bubble bags very soon. I'm going to donate the weed, he's going to make the hash & we split 50/50. My question would be is there any tips for the bubble bags? I know they come fully instructed but I'm wondering if you more experienced bubble hash makers have some tips, lets say from trial & error.I apologize if I'm imposeing on yer thread Hawaiin Grown.It seemed like the appropriate place to ask since it was brought up. Peace

Make sure the weed is frozen before hand, at least 12 hrs if not 24. First time I made bubble the guy I made it for swore that he had frozen the trim beforehand (I had to make it at his place). Got there, low and behold dry, unfrozen trim, great I say. We ended up only getting about 2 1/2 grams of 73 and 45 put together from like 1/2 lb. Made me so mad I wanted to just destroy the bags, thought they were a waste of money. Next batch the trim was frozen for about 5 days before mixed for a different buddy. We ended up with about 9 grams of 73, 8 grams of 45, 4.5 grams of 25, 6.5 grams of 120, 5 grms of 160, and 4 grams of 190. All from about 3/4 lb of seeded Godbud trim I must add it was also the most bubbly Godbud bubble I have smoked to date. I know now that no matter how good of a home-made system I make, I cant top THE BAGS. I used to make my water hash by taking a fine grade of panty hose (no I didnt wear them ) Putting it in a widemouth mason jar, pour in ice cold filtered water, throw in frozen shake, and then throw in some ice cubes, used to get about 2 1/2 grams per oz. None of it ever bubbled tho, but boy was it ever blonde. Still the bags are the best. Another word of advice is mix with a piece of wooden dowling or such rod, it builds muscle and also helps to produce a much finer grade of bubblehash.

Thanks for the tip Bram. I will for sure freeze for the 4-5 days before. I have a few 1 gal jars, like what they use in restuarants for relish and such. Does it matter if the jars to be frozen w/herb are tightly packed or not. I've got close to a Lb in 1 jar and it's pretty well packed in there with just the bud trimmings & all the little buds from the bottom of plant. Thumbs up bro.

Once you start making bubble, you dont reall want to smoke any other grade of hash, except maybe for flavour, but even then you can figure out over time how to retain turpentenes.
