There's a whole set of rules, just click on the Help Button.
Many strain submissions are not making the grade and aren't being included. About 30% are being rejected as not having enough info.
In the Help section of the strainguide it now states that only commercially available strains can be submitted. No private strains allowed. What's the point of posting a strain no one can ever get except you?
Yes, images would be nice, but they aren't essential in the strain guide. They are far more important in the grow reports to provide visual proof that you actually grew the strain and the results were as you said.
And I remind everyone that a grow report gets submitted under grow reports, not strains.
If you haven't grown it out yet, you can't publish ANYTHING in the strain guide until you have.
One more thing: If the breeder of the strain isn't recognized as one in our Breeder Directory, it won't appear on the IC Strainguide homepage. So if you are new breeder, you should discuss with Gypsy getting your strains listed on Seedboo or Seedbay, then we can add you to our official breeder's list.
Yet another thing: I remind you all that you can RATE the STRAINS in the strainguide. We are accepting ratings from breeders, growers and smokers!
I'm a little worried about naming the f2's of every hybrid cross.
It could work out, since tracking down the strain names to individual breeders and clones or areas will be easier.
On the other hand it is gonna make for one great search!
Keep them engines revving!
A preliminary name is o.k., but i thought strains became strains with names once they became true-breeding for specific traits, which identify them.
Usually, that doesn't happen till these traits have been bred for through three or more generations of progeny.
Some hybrids require less work, others must be bred for at least five generations.
In this I see our fallacy!
Sometimes I am not sure whether we are diversifying our gene pool, or making a hodge podge soup!
I think researching and identifying data relevant to the strains, with the addition of presumably factual information should be supported fully!
More reading and posting of knowledge, less banter!
