The search for the strongest potency strains of 2020

Hey all, I know there have been a ton of these threads but I wanted to make a more comprehensive updated one for 2020.

What is the strongest variety you have tried to date?

What strains have you seen lab test results on that run above 25%?

I hope to use this to help myself and others find good seed stock, so let us know who the breeder is if you know and if it is still available somewhere in seed form.

Feel free to post THC results as well.

The strongest varieties I have tried to date are:

-holy grail kush from DNA
-blue dream x headband from Arcata
-Original Glue (supposedly #4 but who knows in Canada)
-malawi 13 (dispensary in B.C., no seeds)
-white rhino circa 2001

Highest test results I've seen:

From Ace;
-golden tiger 34% raw, 29.95% potential
-killer A5 haze 28.6% raw 25.1% potential
-malawi 29.56% raw 26.021% potential
-malawi x Panama 26.4% raw 24.3% potential
-panama x Malawi 28.1% raw 24.8% potential


Strains I have seen test a over 25% on the Canadian legal cannabis market:

-jean guy (available from house of the great gardener)
-wappa (available from paradise seeds)
-mac1
-tom Ford island pink & pink kush (available from medman, Scott family farms, dr. Underground and Barney's farm)
-gsc
-sour jack
-cherry punch
-wedding crasher
-alien sinmint cookies
-ultra sour
-delahaze
-chocolate fondue (greenhouse grown too, available from dna if you can find it)
-sour kush/headband (not sure who's version, this is from snoop Dogg's brand LBS)

-strawberry banana 31.62% (available from DNA)
-venom OG 31.04%
-redeye og 29.69%
-ancient og 29.65% (bodhi seeds)
-wedding cake 29.24%
-vegan velvet kush 29.18%

-wifi og 27.68%

-scotts og 26.98% (rare dankness)

Other strains I have seen test above 25%:

-bruce banner #3 24.6% average according to Washington i-502 data (good example in seed is maybe Bruce Banner og from elev8 or hulk king from WSS)

-ghost og 28.7% average (according to Washington i-502 data ghost og is one of the strongest of all time, rugburn og is supposed to be the closest representation in seed form, available from rare dankness)

-og Chem 26.4% average according to Washington i-502 data(connoisseur genetics)

Honorable mentions go to a few strains I haven't seen reliable testing for but from word of mouth seem to be in the top for potency:

-9lb hammer (jinx proof)

-original haze/Tom Hill haze/early Neville's haze (sources are a bit hard to find, maybe OTH from ace, proseeds UK for THH, Sam has some original haze lines, feel free to chime in)

-zamal k1 (french touch seeds)

Don’t know about test results but LA Confidential from my local dispensary is a real heavy one. They also have Ghost Train Haze which I believe tests high

and a buddy out in Portland used to run a DogWalker strain that I think showed some high #’s

OGKB 2.0? I remember seeing some high test #’s in Chunky’s thread

Found this one plant in a 12 pack that would make you sweat. First time I tried it solo and thought to myself tf is this. Invited 3 friends over, sure thing. Sweat pearls, 2 of them puked and then crashed on my couch. Third dude (who smokes live resin all day long) went "oh yeah" and got chinese eyes for 1.5 hours, same for me.
now I mostly prank ppl with it.

Speaking of sweating and overdoing it, I have a theory that much of the discomfort from a strong dose is due to dehydration. I have reversed negative reactions with water and electrolytes. Cannabinoids seem to draw a fair amount of water to process in our bodies and I noticed a similar feeling when dehydrated. Stay high-drated!

Nice one. That might of been THCP in the profile. I've come across only a few like that and its not always the THC% that determines potency. I found a Durban Poison about 30 years ago that was just off the scales and felt like an entirely different substance to cannabis and that was in the days when flowers were about 10-15% THC. Also to consider is the resin profile and the entourage effect of other ratios of caanibinoids and terpenes.

I wonder about thcp seriously,.. I can remember smoking good shit and then once in a blue moon (maybe once a year, maybe less I bought weed everyday back then)there would be some weed that just blew everything away with its potency just a couple levels above on another plane. Makes me feel
truly is some weed with a bit of thcp or another more potent cannabinoid.

I can have it tested, but I highly doubt thcp is on the list of cannabinoids they test for.. And the closest place I know is 2 hours away.

In the coming months I'll do a small side grow with the cuts im most curious about and have 6 or so tested for cannabinoids, terpenes and whatever else they have.

Read a bit about the most common(pro) testing equipment in use. They go for 10k-20k, must be amazing to pheno hunt with such nice tools. One can dream, huh.
