Weed is crazy in Oregon these days. It's cheap and it's everywhere. Great for buyers/smokers, but I dunno how Oregon growers are making any money. Dispensaries will regularly have sale/special ounces for around $100-150, and folks will turn around and sell 'em on the street/craigslist/whatever for $150-200.
The recreational use laws haven't actually kicked into place yet, which happens in July I believe, and then some point (a couple years?) after that they have to open the retail shops, which may mean the closing of the medical dispensaries, all of which may drastically affect the price of Oregon weed in the future, one way or the other.

i'm in nc. what most here would probably grade 'near popcorn' cali od indica dom middies ( being kind) goes quickly at $100/q, $20/g, $250/egg, $750 qp. they call it 'loud'. lots and lots of #'s of this shit being moved here daily. blacks are walking into stores where they aren't even customers announcing to everyone "i've got the loud". streets/party's crowded with ppl selling 'loud'. everyone is buying 'loud'. fucking ridiculous low potency, low end bag appeal huge tolerance build up issue reject west coast od indica dom. weed is what 'loud' is.

I've got potent, sativa dom od grown with good bag appeal. if light/bright green and some frost goes at about same price. if darker, very hard to sell.
almost no concentrates available here for the general public unless you got good connections ( younger crowd always seems to have the best connects). very potent black gooey, oily iso wax/oil (mine) going for $125/2.5 g tubs. every mom and pop gas station, e-cig, vape store selling vape pens and almost no one has any concentrates to put in their vapes.
ppl here ( outside of the younger savvy crowd and recent transplants from med states ) don't even know the difference between sativa and indica. they think bright green frosty buddie buds ( hard, indica dom bud structure golf balls) are the shit ( as in 'the good shit'). tolerance build up issues are huge on the low end shit being imported for sale here and ppl think they are superman with superman tolerance issues. they keep coming back trying out every new batch wondering why they can't get high after the first two smoke sessions. they blame it on themselves ( tolerance build up issues from smoking too much weed; 1/8th per week if they're lucky) instead of understanding the cash crop bud they bought was bred for bag appeal and yield.
i'm gonna make my $money selling these dumb ass fools capes they can wear while they toke 'loud' without copping a decent buzz: alibaba Chinese wholesale website

I think this is actually more what the US should be like. Even in OR, WA, CO, AS, or DC. See how comparable even Craigslist prices are in those states?
I just can't see how any even purely organically grown premium genetics is ever anwhere near worth $400/oz or something and even at those lower prices profits can still be made. It might take growers a little effort and business acumen but 400% profit is just stupid.
I get the distinct impression that a lot of growers are actually against legalization and actually take steps toward that end while at the same time telling their customers they are pro-legalization. These are the guys against gov't intervention yet are exactly why the citizens will be in favor of that, so rediculous profitteering and theivery will only be by the gov't. "Don't steal. The gov't doesn't like the competition."

lol c'mon dudejust because you have a good plug does not make it reality for the average person. if I guy ask anyone in Ontario, Canada right now they will tell me they pay at least $200 for TOP QUALITY. My friends and I get it cheaper and sell to each other cheaper but that is different.

producing for yourself and producing for others is two different things.
If you paid yourself $100 a day and grew 2 lbs in 90 days, marijuana has about a 0% mark up based on those prices.
I'll even spot you a few dollars for nutes and electricity. And, that's if you selling your pounds in ounces, not pounds.
It basically weighs out to minimum wage.
I pay my high school friend $120-$150. Kinda subpar, but still very good.

you'd think you could $clean up here but they won't pay more for the good shit. guy I know was transporting sensi down from indian rez on Canadian border and the $man financing the play would not bring the good stuff here. they brought the low end with good bag appeal here and got as much as the customers were going to pay for it. good stuff went elsewhere. great place to send the cali rejects except the dealers are paying dirt cheap prices on the left coast for it. growers and customers getting pimped out by the crew doing the transportation.

As far as prices go, people don't factor in all of the costs. All that growing isn't free. And if it is, come work for me. You're just taking your check in a lump sum at the end of the gig and pretending like all the gardening got done for free.

The prices are fair. You can make whatever people are willing to pay. It's pretty simple. I pay it. So will others.
