Back then there was no such thing as Self Serve....An attendant would pump the gas, wash the windows, check oil and tires. That's why they called it a SERVICE STATION.
I worked at the last full-service station in town, during college. An older crowd...they'd come through, get $5 of gas and want the full-service-check oil/tires, clean windows, and of course sweep out the floor-boards.

That inspired me and I couldnt contain my self
and brought this forth☝️

Beneath the neon, where questions glow,
Dogzster sits, a sage in the know.
"Guru," they ask, "this vaping craze,
Is it wisdom or just a smoky haze?"
With a paw to chin and a thoughtful wag,
Dogzster speaks, no need to brag:
"Balance is key, and health your guide;
In clouds of trends, let caution reside."
A knowing bark, then silence anew,
Dogzster, the wise, has spoken true

I stand in awe☝️
Wow, just wow 😳

I know I’m not the only one here that remembers those numbers. The lowest I can remember is $.34 a gallon and that was in the 50s I believe…
I can remember in in the $0.20's day to day, growing up in a Kerr McGee refinery town.
In Kansas growing up it got below 20 cents a gal several times....17.9 is the lowest I can remember.
I've seen it lower than that in a gas war. Hard for other brands to compete with the Kerr McGee Deep Rock station price wise, when they were across the street from the refinery.

You made subbie a little jelly @jokerman .
Dog I went to the pork store today. Got one of those beef briskets never have seen one except cooked. Looked like it needed a LOT of trimming up. It was giant but I put it in my cart anyway. They said whole brisket for 6.99/lb. Then I rolled a bit farther and saw these which appeared to be the same thing only already trimmed up (a bit more per pound tho but worth it to me) so I traded the one in my cart for it. I’m gonna try to smoke it on my gas grill like we talked about low and slow. The lady working there told me that this was a good rub for it.
I hope I don’t screw it up. I never made one so any additional tips would be helpful. I need to get some wood chips, what kind do I get?
