Sometimes I don't think the medical establishment is as knowledgable as they claim to be and sometimes the treatment is worse than the illness. The eskimos diet is almost all fat and meat and they do ok.
@Dime -- Eskimos just don't get much press. The average lifespan of an Eskimo is only 66 years. <-- TINS

It may be "interesting" that they have to live on seal meat and the like, but it ain't good human food at all.

They do "OK" from the POV they are scraping a living in what some (me) would call a frozen Hell, but "OK" means if an Eskimo/Inuit was born when I was, he would now be just a dim memory -- having died 'way back at the turn of the century/millennium.

You're on track thataway, @Boo -- Grains are good for cholesterol control, and blueberries help mental acuity.

It's what I have for breakfast every morning per the destructions of MySonTheDoctor.
Yup - mental clarity is all important - as we age - because things do tend to get fuzzy round the edges - and if eating and drinking the right stuff helps one to be sharper - then that can be helpful -

Just had a good conversation with OleReynard....I like hanging and talking with like minded people. To bad we are scattered around the globe.
I am pleased to have reached the springtime of my senility with the structure of the Internet the way it is.

Being in the boondocks (like many here) I could go days without even seeing another person. Couple that with the fact that I seem to have accidentally** outlived every single one of my friends of yore.

** I've tried. I've ridden/hand-fed sharks, crashed trailbikes, piloted planes, got shot, run over, went hand-to-hand to the death with a big boar standing over me, struck (twice) by rattlesnakes, and too many other genuine "die here and now" coin flips to list.

This place gives me face time with a cross-section of the most interesting people from literally all over the world. I've got friends here that I have never seen in person, but I know them. <-- This amazing oddity did not exist just a short time ago. It is new to everyone.

I've put out peanuts, but it didn't slow them down on the tomatoes.
In that case, I am also quite fond of both squirrel stew and fried squirrel.

This may sound capricious, but you might have some success with a half-dozen or so mousetraps in amongst your tomato plants -- placed in strategic positions. Won't necessarily kill the squiddles, but just one of them running along with a mousetrap stuck on his foot could deter the hell outa the others.

As a kid, we had woodchucks. Whistlepigs. They ate everything in a garden if not controlled.

They also eat the reindeers stomach content for roughage and nutrients.
Hmmm... Sounds like they are Scottish. They essentially eat the same scale of crazy. Here comes a fess-up:

I love haggis. Pork Lungs, Oatmeal, Water, Beef Fat, Beef Liver, Lamb Lungs, Beef Heart, Dried Onion, Barley, Salt, Spices.

It is illegal in America. <--TINS

I betcha raw seal blubber could not be found at White Castle, either.

I never knew this Walt. Morning dude!

The Haggis are small furry animals that roam the Scottish wilderness.
Very elusive apparently, well that's what my grandfather used to tell me as a child. 😂

We don't really do haggis down here, but we do have a nice offal and heart and lung dish called Faggots. Little balls of joy to me they are, smothered in a gravy.

Our local butcher in Gloucester won awards for his year on year. His pork pies were lovely too.

Have you ever tried a pork pie or faggots?

That's the Golden Eagles of the University of Southern MS. I was on the 9 year plan. :tiphat:
Am I the only one who has not gone to prison around here? We live in a world of weird people. I got praised for shooting people, and folks here have gone to jail for growing a common weed in their own homes. Insanity.

When I come back as a Messiah, I will straighten this all out. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people already claiming that job.

Yes - we grew up with faggots on the menu too - in the right gravy - they are delicious - once a week we would eat boiled sheep's hearts also - and Mum would make us Brawn(brains) sandwiches - with cucumber for picnics -
