Speaking to a couple folks in chat several nights ago, prompted me to git this out to y'all. This is, from what I understand, tha original chocolate chip cookie from a Massachusetts housewife, in 1929! Make 'em with canna butter er just regular, these are tha best fuggin' cookies you'll ever experience......
Compliments to tha original housewife as well as to my own, fer discovering this recipe....
1/4 lb. butter 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 egg 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/8 cups flour
Preheat oven to 375 and grease cookie sheets. cream tha butter, then add the 2 sugars gradually. Beat till light and smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla. Mix flour, salt and baking soda together and add to first mixture, blending well. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Dropping by teaspoons on greased cookie sheets, bout 1 inch apart, bake for 8-10 mins or till lightly browned.
Keep close eye, using brown sugar, things are quick to burn. I would also recommend cooling on pie racks..... These cookies come out almost see through, crispy, chewy and perfect! Let us know how you liked 'em.
Stay healthy an' grow HARD,
Enjoy,
Steele
