I think I might just keep talking to myself in this thread until people start paying attention

it's all on behalf of a good cause :)

have you listened to Miriam yet?

here is another version of Ms. Makeba sining Amampondo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfCgI5uT3VM

the footage is from one of my all-time favourite films - "When We Were Kings" - the documnetary of the 1974 "Rumble in the Jungle" Mohammad Ali vs. George Foreman in Zaire (now the DRC)

I can't recommend enough that people check out the film - the fight is legendary, as were the perfomances of BB King and James Brown ...

(yeh James Brown got BB in the eighth round - pulled a Praying Mantis move out of nowhere, "Dragon Whips Tail" - BB didn't know what hit him ... guess that's why they called him "The Godfather of Soul" lol )

one of her tunes has been used on an ad quite recently - I forget what it was for (yes excellent!) but it was a girl floating off up into the sky surrounded by clouds

... maybe business class air travel for some airline or other ...

Great stuff. Really relaxing. I think listening to this on mushrooms would be great because it would make me feel adventurous but at peace.

Anyways. Thanks for the link.

America is butt deep in soul divas - and what do they give us - Whitney and fucking Madonna

Whitney should be made to kiss Sharon's feet every fucking day
