Question about a good grow space. If I have a big closet that is maybe 2 feet wide and 8 feet long, if i want to grow 2 plants in a 2'x2' space, could i use the corner or middle of the closet or is it best to get a space that is exactly 2'x2'?
thanks

You can use whatever space you have. There are a lot of things to keep in mind when growing in a closet. After you section off your space to grow in make sure you've left rooms for fans, ducting, lights, and the pots or grow media that your plants will sit in. But yeah, you can section off any area of your closet.

Ok, nevermind my other threads, this will be my main one. I've read a few online grow guides now and heve enlightened myself to some extent. Hopefully someone can go over this with me. Ok so this is what I plan to do and at the end I will put my questions.
First off I will need a growing space. I have a closet two feet wide by about 8 feet long and 7 feet tall. I will just grow in the center of the closet with the plants and lights all within my 2'x2' space I want and will open the doors each day during light period and have a fan blowing air in the closet. Next I need seeds, I think I will get some Nirvana seeds. After doing some reading California Orange Bud and White Rhino seem to be what I am interested in! So I will pick up these seeds up and then the next step is germinating them. I have read several methods and think I will germinate 1 using the paper towel method, and 1 by putting it in a glass of water and once it sinks i will take it out plant it. This brings me to the soil, I will be getting a soil that contains some sand and perlite, possibly worm castings too. I will start it in a 6"x6" pot that has drainage at bottom, and will give them tons of water when they are first planted. I will then wait and hope they pop up within the next 48 hours or so. This will be growing under a flourescent light after the seed pops up with 18 hours of light and 6 hours dark period. I will wait until it seems the soil has dried and I will water again. I read not to use fertilizer until 3 weeks or so because the soil will contain enough for the plant for about 3 weeks. So to fertilize I was thinking after 3 weeks to use a high Nitrogen fertilizer, maybe 3.1.1, or something like that, blend a small amount up into the water and use it while I water the plants each time slowly increasing the amount of fertilizer. Once the plant gets tell enough for my liking, I will change it to 12/12 light dark periods using a 250W HPS light. I hope I will be able to get help from you guys on how to get rid of the males as that part slightly confuses me. I then plan to just continue growing them with this light, slowing down on the fertilizer but using one with a high phosphorous ratio, and also slowing down on the water and tryingto get humidity and temperatures down. I will then when the buds are mature, cut the plant by the main stem, hang it upside down in a dark room with some air circulation for 48 hours, cut the buds up and put them into jars. Then I will open the jars up each day for a certain period of time and then close them again. Hopefully this will all come together well!

1. Now for some questions I have. When should I turn on the flourescent lights, should I put them on immediately or wait for the palnt to pop out of the soil first? Also is it OK to immediately use a 18/6 Light period and should I give the plant alot of water when i first plant the seed and before it pops out of the top of the soil even if the soil looks moist?

2. How do I know how much fertilizer to add to my water? Is adding fertilizer to the water each time I water it a good idea? How often should I fertilize it and is this also know as feeding the plant?

3. Woulda 400W light be better than a 250W light, it is only for 2 plants so I can't see it being better. Also it gives off much more heat as I read, which is probably a bad thing. Will my ventilation be OK?

4. Can you see any other problems with my plans? Should I section off the 2'x2' area or will just keeping the pants in that general area be OK? Please let me know what you think and try to answer my 4 questions. Thank you everyone, I have done a lot of reading and know that these are generally Noobish Questions, but I searched the forums and internet for days now, and would like some assistance.
Thank You Everyone!

I can tell you've done your homework, you're going to do well for sure.I start my seedlings of under an 18/6 light cycle, the reason I do this is to reduce the initial stretch that always occurs. If you can get the light on the second they break ground, you should be OK,I just start them under the light so I dont have to concern myself with it.Also, its a good idea to leave about an inch or so empty of soil on top of the container so that after the plant comes up and stretches, you have an inch or so to fill the pot with dirt to support the baby stalk.Have an oscillating fan on them the minute they come up,this will make them sturdy and strong. After 2 or 3 weeks you can fertilize or feed the plants with 1/3 strength nitrogen fert.5-1-1 fish emulsion is easy to find and a great vegging fert.If you fert every third watering ,you should be OK.This is very strain dependent so some strains can use a little more, some a little less.A 400W light would be much better even for just 1 plant if the heat allows it,if it doesn't use the 250.Generally the more wattage you're using the better results you'll have if heat is not an issue.I wouldnt section anything off,its not necessary to do so.If you are using tube flourescents not compact flo's its best to have the lamps 1/2 inch above the tops of the plants, you cant do better than flo lighting the first couple weeks of a seedlings life. After a couple weeks you'll have a 4 or 5 inch bush with about 20 leaves, this is when I put them under the HIDs.

Ok, so another part that confuses me, when do I force them to start their flowering stage? Would it be when they are as big as I'd like them to be?
