the person with the right skills who also plucks his girl out of the cup n completely trims the roots from the top to the bottom on the ouside 8th n inch of medium and then packs fresh soil in to fill that void in veg will win.

Does it count that I knocked my cup down TWICE, both times uprooting my poor little girl?:

i dont trim the roots, the roots are needed for growth. just take the rootball out of the cup, break it apart a little, shake off excess dirt, report in same container. been doing it with my seedlings for years. if plant is too stretchy, i bend the stem 90 degrees and plant it back under the soil with the rootball rotated 90degrees also. if the roots are pointing down before transplant, after transplant they will be pointing to the right or left., if i did it twice they would be pointing up, get what im saying?

so we have to timestamp every picture? isn't a picture a week enough? i mean the first picture showing seedlings has the date in it, why would anyone fake a friendly contest?

Technically yes.

I figured out how to time stamp my pics, but I don't want the stamps on the rest of my pics, and turning it on/off is a bit of an issue to remember. So I'm leaving it off, and taking a pic of the plant infront of my computer showing the last post of this thread in the background.

+1 to what GrowBox420 said,.... because some people HAVE to win.

There's not many rules, but someone shouldn't be able to pull up a beer cup grow that they did 3 years ago that was f'n amazing and post those pics.

It's not about what you did in the past, it's about what you can do while we all type!

7 Days 12/12

7 Days 12/12

Everything is looking good after 7 days flowering. Thats Post #546 in the back ground. The plant closest on the left is the one with the cut roots it's female and doing fine. I have 3 females one male (just showing) and I'm guessing the other two are males because the females all started showing same day??? Anyway there's sure alot of nice plants out there eh! Right on everyone see ya next week.

Because some people HAVE TO WIN

^^^^^^^ sad but true ............

i have not taken any pics that would actually prove when they were taken so i guess if it comes down to it i have been disqualified since the first day. FWIW this whole game seemed like it was just for fun to me anyway, and i think i will stick with that story. i just thought it would be a good way to use up some free beans and maybe get some new blood in the gene pool.

like i said before, how can stoners be expected to have a contest without adult supervision?

:wallbash: i think i understand why V. stopped playin' now

:tiphat:hey my fellow Beer Cup Gro Bros, sum mighty fine plants happening now. Well I'm still stumped to as why this last seedling is taking so long. I've got an 80w CFL about 2-3 inches away from the midget. I'm just thinking it was just a bad batch of seeds from week plants or something coz its not as though my other plants I've got going atm r this slow. Oh well like I said b4 its all in good fun:gday:

honestly, if someone really wanted to cheat, photos can be edited to read any time or date they wanted. I could put time/date stamps on my photos that say they were taken by ancient romans.

We might be stoners, but we shouldn't need "adult supervision". It's all about the honor system. No one be a cockface, and we'll have a good contest.

Meh, I'm not gonna win any thing anyway,.... I lost my White widow mom to Root Aphids, so I'll only harvest half of this grow and re-vege her if she's any good.

I'm sure a 4g harvest is gonna look pretty sad next to some of the killer plants going in the thread.

um, if you say so. cutting up the roots is totally a better idea than changing the orientation of the roots which always grow down. and i don't recall saying anything about tying down plants. where you got that from i don't know. i said if my seedlings are too stretchy i wrap the stem around the rootball and bury it again. roots that were pointing down have more room to grow down again while i shorten the plant by burying the excess stem for stability. i would draw a picture but i don't feel like it. time will tell whether you produce more roots by cutting them off or by simply giving them more space to continue growing.

also aren't you disturbing the roots when you pull em up and then cut them? i seem to recall hearing a story about a black kettle...

Looks like I'm a bit behind. Oh well. Here's my babies. Aren't they cute? The little one on the left just popped ground today.

These are from my old bagseed collection. The bigger one in the very back is a clone so ignore it.
