The Gladio Project

So in light of the NSA PRISM scandal, I've been doing more reading into various organizations that the US has assembled, and scandals that it has been involved in over the past 30 years or so.

I have to say, this scared the crap out of me and I really don't know what to make of it. I've done some research and it seems like a fully legit thing, resolutions B3-2021/90, B3-2058/90, and B3-2068/90 were all in relation to Gladio, however no further action was ever taken besides a demand for an investigation. Now, I'm not a naive person, I've been aware of US surveillance and shady operations for a long time but this is just a whole new level. An underground paramilitary organization with the role to enforce political tension across Europe? It just... it sounds so much like a conspiracy theory yet I can't even find any denials or debate about it.

i've been aware of gladio for a bit longer. i'm quite sure it's not a wild 'theory' but fact. the best info in book form i know of is daniele ganser's book (based on his doctoral thesis) "NATO's Secret Armies: Operation GLADIO and Terrorism in Western Europe" (available in 10 languages)

this seldom-seen BBC doc from 1992 on the subject is also excellent - you hear many things from the horse's mouth. here is part 1 (of 3):
