Yep -

White & Light Grey = good = better flushed, burns alright, should taste ok
Dark grey & Black = bad = probably not flushed well, doesn't burn too well, worse taste

i know a few local growers and form my experience the ash is white and very light (in weight) when grown organically and leaves a mess of black tar when grown "chem". thats not to say that well flushed chem cant leave a cleaner ash just that that has been my observation from the many strains that i have smoked (a known the grower). i love organic buds cause i find my pieces stay cleaner longer.

Let's send this one to mythbusters...

I think the whole theory that white ash means that the herb is "clean" or "flushed" versus black ash that is "dirty" or "Chemmy" is complete urban legend.

I have burned tons of herb flushed and unflushed and what I have seen is the following:

white ash - dry bud
black ash - wet bud

simple :nanana:
