Neem Oil.

Use neem until 2 weeks before chop.

Chemical method: Floramite. Until flowering.

No damn given.

I have used just plain water. Soak the underside of the leaves. Spider mites need dry conditions. Water makes them blow up. :badday:

Anyone ever heard of or used Abemectin, Avid? It's certainly not organic.
It's a neruotoxin that works on mites. One application will do. It's not easy
to come by.

I don't think many organic farmers want to use neurotoxins in their gardens.

The best method I have found was a combination of neem oil and physically removing infected leaves from the grow area.

Simple... (if you have the equipment that is). Suffocate them by using CO2. Raise the co2 levels in the room to a 1600ppm level. Nothing survives but plants. Turn the exhaust back on after 2 hours of that and get the co2 down to a safe level for yourself. this would also depend on how sealed your room is... as the co2 might leak out to the rest of the house or apartment. You'll get light headed and a headache if theres too much co2 in the room while your in there.

I think that CO2 thing is a myth. People that control the levels of CO2 in there room, like myself, regularly have their ppms at 1600 and spider mites still thrive.

I've heard the necessary level of CO2 for killing mites is 10,000 ppm for 1-2 hours. I talked to someone who did this and raved about it but read one member here tried and said it was bunk.

I have only had one mite infestation in my short carreer, but the vinegar/baking soda solution linked in Speading Seeds post above worked woders for me. 3 months later and no sign of return.

no-pest strips make a lot of people uneasy. but I can't find a more effective and easy method. I placed one around the mites and they were all gone in a day. The eggs to however keep living, so the treatment has to continue until they all hatch. Its not necessary to keep it in there all the time. When the lights go out turn off the exaust and place the strip in. When the lights come back on take the strip out.

I don't recommend using it on late flowering plants however.
